I have tested with daily-live from 20090708, and the problem is gone (strangely enough since I have it on the installed system). I have tested both KMS and UMS and both on the Thinkpad X61 Tablet and HP Compaq nx7400. After further testing, it seems this doesn't happen every time, and there are other problems after resume. The output of dmesg after resume shows a lot of "SQUASHFS Error" lines - and I see the original submitter's dmesg.afterResume.txt log shows a similar result - so is the problem here perhaps the LiveCD not coming back on-line quickly enough upon resume? I see the same thing with the Jaunty Beta Live CD which I downloaded today. My laptop's an HP 6720s, also with Intel 965 integrated graphics. When resuming from suspend I'm left with a black screen. The mouse pointer is just visible if the mouse is moved, but flickery. TomasHermosilla, on my machine (Thinkpad X61 Tablet with intel 965GM chipset) suspend and resume works fine from the installed Jaunty, but not frome the LiveCD. Therefore, this bug is only present in a LiveCD session. This means that you are experiencing a different bug from mine, but with very similar symptoms. Please report it as a separate bug, but feel free to leave a link to that bug report here (and vice versa). It seems that this problem is specific to LiveCD sessions. I have had Jaunty installed on my Thinkpad since the end of January with suspend and resume working fine. I just tested the alpha-4 LiveCD on both the Thinkpad and the Compaq nx7400, and the problem still persists. The bug may be in gnome-screensaver, so I'm adding this package.
