I followed jackie mcghee´s advice, and for low quality videos the problem is solved... but for anything higher in quality than a tiny youtube video, the flickering still continues! And if it doesn´t flicker, it lag´s. The sound is perfectely fine but the video becomes slower than the words... Man i hope this can get sorted out. Hey, Same here. Ubuntu 8.10, Totem 2.24.2 using GStreamer 0.10.21 with ATI Radeon HD 3470. I Don't know how to check wether Compiz is enabled. But when selecting the Compiz application in the Gnome Menu (Applications Other Compiz), the screen flickers and window manager returns to a normal desktop view. If info is needed, please let me know. Hi, I turned off compiz off and yes it does stop the flicker. I have an ATI Radeon Mobility HD 2600 XT running on the Catalyst version 8.53, 2d driver version 8.56.4, catalyst control center version 2.3, opengl version 2.1.8304. I enjoy using Compiz and if possible would prefer to run it So hopefully you can help me out with this.
