I'm not sure about the responsible package, that's why I hesitated to
mark it as a duplicate. I could reproduce bug #837456 anywhere, but this
one seems to be restricted to Ubuntu-GNOME. I want to check what exactly
Onboard does when it happens too. Haven't had time yet.

Wayland support is on my list, but there isn't much progress beyond
displaying the keyboard yet. XTest, XKb, XInput and plenty of regular X
trickery have to be replaced.

  So I've just had 2 recent complaints on libgl not being found on nvidia.

  I cannot determine if anyone has had success running one of the 
desktop-example apps from the store on an nvidia gpu machine.
  I asked Alberto Aguirre on the mir team (who has a nvidia gpu) to try SDoC 
and install the ubuntu-clock-app from the store - he confirms seeing the exact 
same issue, he can be questioned if debug help is needed.

  Note, from an engagement on IRC earlier, the person confirmed that
  even rebuilding the clock snap locally and sideloading did not address
  the issue.

I'm still experiencing this on 16.04. Switching to UXA acceleration
fixes the problem. I'm on a Dell XPS 13 9350, with a Skylake i7-6500U

  The Xserver crashes randomly after upgrading to Ubuntu 15.10. Before
  the update everything was stable.

  The problem occured mostly while using Thunderbird but also once while

I have just tested Ubuntu version 16.04 LTS xenial.

glxgears now gives a different error message, but somewhat similar.
We are still failing to load the swrast driver. Here is the output:

swrast.so is broken in Ubuntu 14.04

I have Ubuntu 14.04 64x. I need to use libGL for a project. LibGL uses
(dlopen) swrast_dri.so. Both of these are maintained by Ubuntu as
specified in the package repository. When i try to run glxinfo I get:

This is with mesa 10.1.3. Unresolved symbols in swrast seem to go back
to mesa 10.1.1. Are there any updates/patches for 14.04? Failing that,
where can i dind a version that doesn't have these problems and where
can I download its sources?
