[Desktop-packages] [Bug 1424609] Re: Can not print in landscape
Finally I found a workaround. The attached odt file can be printed correctly in landscape. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1321724] [NEW] Compiz Plugin scaleaddon not working
Public bug reported: The Scale Addon plugin is not working. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open ccsm 2. Enable scaleaddon 3. Go to Appearance Window Title Window Title Display and set anyone of the 3 options (All windows, Highlighted windows only, No display). 4. Now when using the Scale plugin no title is displayed at windows. 5. After that, if you run compiz --replace, the Window Title always display at Highlighted windows when using the Scale plugin (very annoying). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1063617] Re: 1:0.9.8+bzr3319-0ubuntu1 regression: keeps setting gsettings keys to wrong values
I can confirm the workaround using flat file configuration still works at 14.04. Steps to apply: 1. Install compizconfig-settings-manager 2. Open ccsm and go to Preferences Export and save your preferences saved.profile 3. Change Backend to Flat-file Configuration Backend (here some people get stucked with a messed desktop with will be fixed at step 4) 4. Import your saved profiled (step 2) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to compiz in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1063617 Title: 1:0.9.8+bzr3319-0ubuntu1 regression: keeps setting gsettings keys to wrong values Status in Compiz: Confirmed Status in Compiz 0.9.9 series: Confirmed Status in “compiz” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: NOTE: This bug is for Ubuntu 12.10 and later only. If you experience something similar in 12.04 then please see bug 964270. ORIGINAL DESCRIPTION: Since version 1:0.9.8+bzr3319-0ubuntu1, compiz/unity keeps messing up my gsettings (keybindings and WM prefs). This was already covered in bug 1042041, but the change there mostly caused the bug to happen consistently now. At every session startup I have a script to fix my settings like this: --- 8 gsettings reset org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences auto-raise gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings lower ['Altb'] gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings maximize ['SuperUp'] gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings unmaximize ['SuperDown'] gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences focus-mode sloppy --- 8 But after restarting compiz, it changes the settings to: --- 8 $ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences auto-raise true $ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings lower ['disabled'] $ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings maximize ['ControlPrimarySuperUp'] $ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.keybindings unmaximize ['ControlPrimarySuperDown'] $ gsettings get org.gnome.desktop.wm.preferences focus-mode 'click' --- 8 I tried to move away /usr/bin/session-migration, that does not change anything, so it's not that script. Public bug reported: I am using Ubuntu 14.04 without any ppa or otherwise installed package. At Nautilus, when we click on File New Document the only option showed is Empty Document, ie, it does not show the option to create new files based on the templates at $HOME/Templates. Because of that, one can not use HUD to create a new document based on his/her templates. I have reported upstream (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=729606) but then I was referred here. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 771896] Re: No way to save current session
I have made a workaround until this gets fixed. It is a script that helps to configure your session. Just paste this at terminal: cd ~/ wget -c http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4098082/session.config chmod +x ~/session.config ~/session.config You can view the code of script ( http://dl.dropbox.com/u/4098082/session.config ), there are explanations in each part. It will create a startup script which will move to each viewport and open the specified application. *Removing* To remove any changes made by my script just delete this files: - ~/session.config - ~/sessionconf - ~/sessionconf.bak - ~/.config/autostart/sessionconf.desktop Or run this at terminal: rm ~/session.config ; rm ~/sessionconf ; rm ~/sessionconf.bak ; rm ~/.config/autostart/sessionconf.desktop -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-session in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/771896 Title: No way to save current session Status in Release Notes for Ubuntu: Invalid Status in “gnome-session” package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in “gnome-session” source package in Precise: Fix Released Status in “gnome-session” source package in Quantal: Fix Released Bug description: Binary package hint: gnome-session There is no way I can find to set up a session the way you'd like to have Unity start up and then save that setup. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 868819] Re: lightdm doesn't start automatically
In October I installed the driver 285.05.09 from Nvidia's site to see if the lighdm work, but had no success (apparently it doesn't load at the boot). So I decided to uninstall the lighdm. Now I reinstalled lighdm in order to post the logs, but the bug was not repeated. Nevertheless, I put the logs here hoping that this may help. Thank you very much. ** Attachment added: .xsession-errors https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lightdm/+bug/868819/+attachment/2589000/+files/.xsession-errors -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868819 Title: lightdm doesn't start automatically Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I've made a simple script (see below) and put it inside /etc/X11/xinit/ and after that lightdm refuses to run automatically at boot. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 868819] Re: lightdm doesn't start automatically
I 'm afraid I've done a new installation. But I'm almost sure the problem wasn't the script but the NVidia driver. At this new installation if I install that driver I got stuck. If I remove then everything goes back to normal. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to lightdm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/868819 Title: lightdm doesn't start automatically Status in “lightdm” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: I've made a simple script (see below) and put it inside /etc/X11/xinit/ and after that lightdm refuses to run automatically at boot.
