There is some good discussion in the linked OOo bug report on this. Paraphrasing fyva... > For tables with merged cells, there are no columns or rows, there are only > cells. When you select a few cells and click "delete row" or "delete column", > you can't delete neither a row nor a column (there are no rows, no columns), > you can either delete the whole table or merge the cells with right, left, > upper or lower cells, by your choice, because each cell have a lot of adjacent > cells. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 897235]
OK - so I think this report is focusing on the three textboxes near the middle of the document, where the first one is a bit left compared to the others. The three are not lined up.left-aligned. It appears to me that the reason is because the first one is wider than the others - in fact it goes right to the edge of the paper. In Word the textbox spills off the end of the page. So that would be the reason - that LO makes the sane decision that content MUST fit on the paper. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/897235 Title: [Upstream] Rounded rectangle corners are indented importing Word .doc Status in LibreOffice: Confirmed Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer libreoffice-writer: Installed: 1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages 3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal: cd ~/Desktop && wget -c https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/897235/+attachment/2611270/+files/Test%20case.doc -O testcase.doc && lowriter -nologo testcase.doc is the gray and white rounded rectangle corners look as they do in the Word screenshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/897235/+attachment/2611275/+files/Test%20case.jpg . 4) What happens instead is the corners are indented in LO screenshot https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/897235/+attachment/2611273/+files/Libreoffice.png . Fixed in LO 7.0 by commit 38e7e6f348df5d6b37d7e0051fd3b8c227db69e6 Author: Justin Luth on Tue Apr 14 17:39:36 2020 +0300 tdf#132094 doc: fix export of fill in wrap-through fly frames This builds on commit 2f13dbac060ae6af7e25ad3eff675cc859cfb3ff by Miklos Vajna on Fri Jun 15 08:49:46 2012 +0100 n#325936 fix ww8 export of fly frames with transparent bg where he wisely and cautiously says Regression from commit ed8b5f2d -- to be safe, reverted only for fly frames in headers. because for some unknown reason, way back in 2002, commit ed8b5f2debac216243930aba0873e0d75de8d0dd forced all frames to specify a background fill. Typically of course this is white, and so who notices? Well, you notice if your frame is transparent, and now the area fill hides something that it is over top of. Like for example a transparent image, where the text wraps through the image. At first I was going to just try and revert everything. Then I decided it likely was a difference between how LO and MSO handled stacking/overlapping things. After that, I was going to just make an exception for eShapeType == mso_sptPictureFrame, but that only seems necessary if there is something underneath. If the something is just a background, that is handled anyway, so really it would only be other shapes or (most importantly) text, so the safest thing is testing wrap through, which there was already a pre-defined variable to reuse (and fix the spelling). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 132094 *** -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/873287 Title: [Upstream] Writer Picture Background No Fill does not persist saving to .doc Status in LibreOffice: Invalid Status in libreoffice package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-writer libreoffice-writer: Installed: 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 Candidate: 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 Version table: *** 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Writer via the Terminal: cd ~/Desktop && wget -c https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libreoffice/+bug/873287/+attachment/2540085/+files/problematic%20document.doc -O inf.doc && lowriter -nologo inf.doc select the picture at bottom right -> Format -> Picture -> Background tab -> No Fille -> OK -> Save as .doc -> Close -> Reopen and the No Fill persists. 4) What happens is it does not. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 1102354] Re: Impossible for non-administrator users to connect to new wireless networks
Still a problem in Bionic Beaver development. In the past you could work around it by going into network properties, and manually adding a network, being careful to uncheck the "make it available for all users" option. I couldn't work around it in Bionic. But the point is that you shouldn't have to "work around" anything. A normal user should be able to follow the simple process of selecting the wireless and being prompted to connect and save the password just for himself. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to network-manager-applet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1102354 Title: Impossible for non-administrator users to connect to new wireless networks Status in network-manager-applet package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: I have configured a laptop for a non tech-savvy member of my familiy, and therefore not given his user any administrative rights. It is impossible for him to connect to a new wireless networks, since that requires administrative priviledges. This makes the laptop more or less useless for him. I believe the root cause is that it by default tries to save the network connection and make it avaiable for all users, which requires administrative priviledges. Since it is a non-administrator user that is trying to connec to the network it should not try to add it for all users. Problem has been reproduced on several machines running Ubuntu 12.10, it can easily be triggered: 1. ( Create a user with a standard account ) 2. Log in as a normal users 3. Try to connect to a wireless network - you will now be asked for the password of the administrator account, which the user of course doesn't have. Note, the bug in step 3 will only trigger if another user hasn't previously connected to that network, because then it would already be stored in the system global network settings :~$ lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 12.10 Release: 12.10 :~$ apt-cache policy network-manager network-manager: Installed: 0.9.6.0-0ubuntu7 Candidate: 0.9.6.0-0ubuntu7 Version table: *** 0.9.6.0-0ubuntu7 0 500 http://se.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/network-manager-applet/+bug/1102354/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
