[Desktop-packages] [Bug 657453] Re: Can't Establish Video Calls on MSN
David This bug is about AV calls in MSN with MS Live Messenger users. I suppose it is possible to use an MSN connection with someone not using MS Live Messenger, but using some other IM client, because you can then negotiate a codec that will work. However, as far as I understand it, MS Live Messenger will only work with the proprietary WMV3 video and the Siren audio codecs. ebuddy is, of course, a web based IM client, so who knows how it works. If you have problems establishing AV calls with other protocols, then please open a new bug for them. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 657453] Re: Can't Establish Video Calls on MSN
I have asked for the current position with MS Live audio/visual calls on #papyon. I was told that the current problem is with the proprietary codecs that MS Live is using. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 863154] Re: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions
Hey everybody. I had the same problem on a Genius M712X tablet (Waltop International). It now works after getting the update and reinstalling GIMP. Thanks for the great work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gimp in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/863154 Title: Wacom Bamboo One tablet random coordinate malfunctions Status in The GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP): New Status in “gimp” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: The tablet in overall seems to work correctly, with all pressure- features working. But quite frequently, while drawing, GIMP seems to wrongly read the coordinates of the stylus (as zeros, or negative values?), resulting in frequent, random 'line-peaks' in the direction of the left and upper image edges. With this bug it is hard to even use the tablet, since these problems are very frequent (see the exemplary image attached). The tablet works with no problems in MyPaint. The bug is reproducible in both Unity-2d and Unity-3d. I also notice the CPU usage increasing dramatically during drawing with any brush. Steps to reproduce: 1. Connect the Wacom Bamboo One tablet 2. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 433563] Re: [Upstream] Base Report "E-Mail as PDF" gives error instead of opening Evolution
I do not think Evolution is relevant to this error message. The error message was also found in the Windows XP version where the mail client was Pegasus mail. In both cases the equivalent option in writer calls the mail client with an attached PDF version of the report. I also think that the nature of the mail client is not relevant because there is a PDF dialogue box opened in Writer for the user to confirm the PDF options to be used before the mail client's new mail dialogue is called. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to libreoffice in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/433563 Title: [Upstream] Base Report "E-Mail as PDF" gives error instead of opening Evolution Status in LibreOffice Productivity Suite: Unknown Status in The OpenOffice.org Suite: Unknown Status in “libreoffice” package in Ubuntu: Triaged Status in “openoffice.org” package in Ubuntu: Won't Fix Bug description: Binary package hint: openoffice.org 1) lsb_release -rd Description: Ubuntu 11.10 Release: 11.10 2) apt-cache policy libreoffice-base libreoffice-base: Installed: 1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1 Candidate: 1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1 Version table: *** 1:3.4.4-0ubuntu1 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric-updates/main i386 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 1:3.4.3-3ubuntu2 0 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oneiric/main i386 Packages 3) What is expected to happen in LibreOffice Base via the Terminal: cd ~/Desktop && wget https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/openoffice.org/+bug/433563/+attachment/2409961/+files/Test-A.odb && lobase -nologo Test-A.odb Reports -> secondary click TelNos -> Open -> File -> Send -> E-Mail as PDF... -> PDF options window -> Export button is Evolution opens with the report attached in PDF format. Christopher, You asked: What is your default e-mail client that works with Writer but not in Base? As I said in #7, I use Evolution. You asked: When you click Tools -> Options -> Internet -> E-Mail what is in the drop down box? sensible-ooomua The only option that works is a straight File > Send > Document as Email. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 758676] Re: [Upstream] .odt exported to PDF by Writer with Courier 10 Pitch PDF/A-1a embedded font show dots in Adobe Reader
Hi guys, Up until about a month ago, I had this exact same problem. I created a document in LibreOffice, and exported it as a pdf. The pdf would display fine on my Ubuntu machine, and also on an Apple. However, when sent to a Windows machine, it reported the same bug (see screengrab attached). [Desktop-packages] [Bug 567029] Re: Login failure loop with Ubuntu 10.04
Is there another way around this bug? I have an Acer Aspire 4330 laptop with the same login loop problem, but the BIOS doesn't allow me to set VGA share memory size. I have gotten around the issue so far by installing slim in place of gdm, but I'd prefer to use gdm in the future if at all possible. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 856312] Re: Cant set resolution with two monitors
In a fresh install of Oneiric, I had a dual screen setup with 3D capability adequate for compiz effects. Then I tried fglrx but had issues with the dual monitor setup and setting resolutions with amdcccle so I uninstalled fglrx. However, it seems that there are some after effects of having had fglrx installed which mean some packages need to be reinstalled. These steps got me back to a clean dual monitor setup with the free radeon driver for both a radeon 5870 and a 5770. http://gurrier.wordpress.com/2011/10/30/amd-video-problems-in- ubuntu-11-10-oneiric-ocelot/ -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/856312 Title: Cant set resolution with two monitors Status in “fglrx-installer” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in “gnome-control-center” package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: When trying to configure my two screens I get the message : required virtual size does not fit available size: requested=(3129, 1050), minimum=(320, 200), maximum=(1680, 1680) The two screens have different sizes ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.10 Package: gnome-control-center 1:3.1.92-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.0.0-11.18-generic 3.0.4 Uname: Linux 3.0.0-11-generic x86_64 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx wl ApportVersion: 1.23-0ubuntu1 Architecture: amd64 Date: Thu Sep 22 08:20:33 2011 InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 11.10 "Oneiric Ocelot" - Beta amd64+mac (20110919) SourcePackage: gnome-control-center UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) usr_lib_gnome-control-center: deja-dup 19.92-0ubuntu1 gnome-bluetooth3.1.4-0ubuntu2 indicator-datetime 0.2.95-0ubuntu1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/856312/+subscriptions -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages Post to : desktop-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~desktop-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

[Desktop-packages] [Bug 862677] Re: Can no longer create IMAP folders
I can confirm the issue. I have noticed though that in IMAP+ on one of my machines it will create the folder and it's saved on the IMAP server, but it doesn't show in the treeview inside Evolution until you close and restart Evolution - you can't even refresh the subscription list to see it. On my other machine - that appears to be configured identically - it looks like it creates the folder but the folder is never actually created on the server. On this one when I watch the Cyrus server logs it never shows any activity from the Evolution client. I'm beginning to see why they went with Thunderbird as the default mail client now. Running Evolution 3.2.0 from Oneiric. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Desktop Packages, which is subscribed to evolution in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/862677 Title: Can no longer create IMAP folders Status in “evolution” package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Bug description: Recent versions of evolution took away the ability to create IMAP folders. This seemed to work with some versions of 3.x, but this has been broken for (at least) a few weeks. My IMAP configuration has not changed and I do not see any errors on the IMAP server. Steps to reproduce: 1. connect to an IMAP server (in my case, dovecot on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS) 2. Right-click on the Inbox for the IMAP account (can also do 'File/New/Mail Folder' or 'New/Mail Folder'-- none work) 3. select 'New folder...' 4. At this point I am presented with the 'Create FOlder' dialog box, but under 'Specify where to create the folder' I only have 'On the computer' and 'Search Folders' Right now I have to create folder on the server for them to show up in evolution, but this is highly undesirable. [Desktop-packages] [Bug 870813] Re: Failure to detect monitor and set correct resolution
After further work I have discovered that the EDID data appears to be corrupted. As there is no easy way to set the desired resolution (that has been reported as a bug by others), I have set the resolution using /etc/X11/xorg.conf. This works - despite what you may read on the Web - even though I am using Intel graphics and that is using KMS. I tried setting video=VGA1:1280x1024 on the kernel command line, but that was ineffective. Ok, I have a dual boot on this machine. Both partitions have Oneiric running with fglrx driver now installed.
