This is very possible and thanks for your action :D

(I remember when I developed a user-facing support system, the most
chosen issue category was "Login Issues" because it's listed as the
first item, and many of the reports just have nothing to do with login
...)

Best,
tison.

Right. All projects by default get listed over at selfserve.apache.org and
when
someone wants a Jira Account they need to choose a project.

Answer, may be chosen because it is near the top of the dropdown, who knows.

In any case, Infra needs to know that the project does not use Jira,
otherwise the
selfserve will just assume it does.

I have with my Infra Hat on disabled 'answer' from the dropdown so that
these requests
will no longer happen.

To be clear, IIRC the Answer podling doesn't use JIRA.

Best,
tison.

Do we encourage audience to contribute on JIRA?

2024-02-01 Thread tison
Hi,

I received a few account requests associated with the answer project
in the last few months [1].

This is quite abnormal to me because generally contributors won't find
the self-serve page and send such a request if they don't get
explicitly encouraged.

So I wonder if any of you or any content in our site encourages it, or
you have some inputs on this topic?

Best,
tison.
