Re: Aftermath of Fineract CN GSoC 2018 Projects

2019-03-26 Thread Pembe Miriam
Hello Isaac,

The UI's for setting up a center has been created, but the endpoints that
are consumed are not real (not from Fineract-CN back-end) . They are
endpoints that were generated on a locally installed Json-server.

The following will be needed for the project to be complete:

1. Endpoints for setting up a center should be made available.
2. Endpoints for carrying out center based operations like those found on
the current Mifos X should be made available.
3. The URL should be updated on the front-end (fineract-cn-group-finance)

Thanks,
Pembe Miriam

Re: Aftermath of Fineract CN GSoC 2018 Projects

2019-03-11 Thread Pembe Miriam
Hello Isaac,

I worked on the project, New Web UI for Microfinance. This project entailed
implementing a front-end UI for Fineract CN that is similar to the UI that
was found in the current Gen 2 Mifos X web app as well as the original Gen
1 web app with support for microfinance institutions with group and center
based operations.

The UI to setup a center on Fineract-CN has been done with the various
fields and design gotten from the current Mifos X.

The problem I faced was that the back-end for Center was not available.

I used a Json Server to test the workflow of setting up a center on
Fineract-CN but this could not help me in simulating transactions carried
out by centers.

This project needs that the endpoints for center based transactions
(back-end) be made available so that it could be used to carry out center
based transactions on the web UI (front-end).

Thanks,
Pembe Miriam

Hello Isaac,

Thanks for taking out time to respond to my email. I ran the unit test
'TestChargeDefinition' it passed all the test but the snippet was not

Re: Declaration of interests in participating in GSoC 2018

2018-04-06 Thread Pembe Miriam
Hello,

According to the idea of a new web UI for Microfinance Institutions, I have
started off with developing a new login UI to that respect. Below is the
link to the github repository. You can clone and review it from that link.

https://github.com/pembemiriam/fineract-cn-web-app

I understand the idea is to build a new Web UI different from fims which
provides MFI-like look and feel. Something that looks a bit more like Mifos
X UI and will provide more group management capabilities. Is this the
objective of this project and if not, Ed, Please can I get some more
clarity.

With the backend currently not complete, later down the project timeline,
we will need to implement the backend services provided there are
requirements on Confluence. I see there is another project on building
Group Management Microservice and integrating into fims. The two project
will likely converge.

Attached to this mail is a screen shot of the login page which is very open
for feedback from everyone. I am looking forward to hearing from you.

Yours Sincerely,
Pembe Miriam

2018-03-30 Thread Pembe Miriam
Hello Everyone,

I have sent a PR which corrects the order of the initial build script for
Linux and also corrects the fims-web-app name in the script.

Here is the PR: https://github.com/apache/fineract-cn-demo-server/pull/5

The goal is that once you have built Mifos IO code base, running the
Fineract CN for the first time should not yield any errors hopefully.

Yours Sincerely,
Pembe Miriam

GSoC Draft Proposal Review

2018-03-24 Thread Pembe Miriam
Hello,

I have submitted my draft proposal to work on "Web UI for Microfinance
Institutions on Fineract CN" for review. I am waiting for feedback please.

There are somethings concerning this projects that I need clarity about and
they are summarized in the questions below;

1. What is to be done for this project is to design a new user interface
for Fineract CN which will include both the features of the fims-web-app
and those that can support Group Lending. Is this conception of mine
correct?

2. Given that my conception is correct, what are the functionalities that
are expected to be implemented during the GSoC period?

Yours Sincerely,
Pembe Miriam

Declaration of interests in participating in GSoC 2018

2018-03-09 Thread Pembe Miriam
Hello,

My name is Pembe Miriam, a computer engineering student in the University
of Buea, Cameroon. I have interest in working on the project, Web UI/UX For
Micro finance Institution on Apache Fineract CN and I look forward to
contributing to it during and after GSoC 2018. I am proficient in
JavaScript and Angular 2+, fairly comfortable in Java and coming up to
speed with Spring.

I have just built the Apache Fineract CN platform and had a lot of errors
which I noticed that others on the mailing list experienced too. I fixed
these by observing that Fineract CN 's demo-server depends on Mifos I/O
artifacts and the solution is to build Mifos I/O first before building
Apache Fineract CN. This ensures that artifacts are published to
`$USER_HOME/.m2/repository` folder. In addition, the script used to run
Apache Fineract CN for the first time, initial-setup.sh, has an incorrect
dependency graph (that's why it has to be ran THRICE) which I've corrected
and I'll be sending a Pull Request (so that it should be run ONCE).

I'm also confused about the exact differences between between Mifos X,
Apache Fineract 1.x and Apache Fineract CN. All what I know now is that
Mifos X is a monolith and Apache Fineract CN is based on a microservices
architecture.

Yours Sincerely,
Pembe Miriam.
