Re: HBaseCon 2016 and Archives

2018-09-17 Thread Sean Busbey
Not all of site is built from the main repo. Jenkins only overwrites the
stuff that is rendered from there.

For example, the version specific docs for older releases all only sits in
hbase-site and has to be manually updated by RMs.

I've been considering automating it so that I can lower the per-release
work of RMing, but it hasn't made it up to my available time yet.

Nope. Our content is built via an automated and documented Jenkins job from
our source, via Maven. Jenkins commits those artifacts to the hbase-site
repo. It is all above board.

It will? Maybe what we have going on right now is dangerous/in risk of
disappearing magically?

I'm pretty sure all of the HBaseCon content only exists in the
hbase-site.git repository.

Thanks Misty.

Then it will get clobbered the next time the site is built by CI. Please
update it in the main master.

Any chance you can open up a Jira issue and provide a patch to update
hbase-site.git?

You would want to modify the file hbasecon-archives.html (if that wasn't
