Hallo Olivier

Since the project is so big, it can take some effort to find this, of
course. Plain searching should eventually get you there (unless this
perhaps is a string that isn't available for translation!)

If you have a good idea in which component of OOo the message could be,
you might want to first navigate into that directory and start the
search from there. This will limit the search to the files in this
directory.

Another thing to consider, is to make use of the checks (Verificações)
to find "unchanged" strings (you might also want to review other checks
for possible areas of improvement):

http://www.sunvirtuallab.com:32300/pt_BR/openoffice_org/index.html?editing=1&showchecks=1

Unchanged and untranslated strings could possibly be where you need to
look, although everything seems 100% translated at the moment for pt_BR.

Even for the checks, you can choose to only review the "unchanged"
checks for a specific directory (or file) in the tree of files. If you
know where to look, this could perhaps also cut down on searching
through results in the other areas of OOo.

I hope this helps.

Re: [l10n-dev] OpenOffice.org 3.0 - Translation Schedule

2008-01-31 Thread Aijin Kim

Hi Pootle users,

As you know, the translation cycle for OO.o 3.0 is already started and
many languages are newly uploaded to Pootle.

There is a most frequently asked question: "How can I start translation
on Pootle?"

For the beginner, you can refer to the Pootle user guide to start the
first step:

http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Pootle_User_Guide

I'd like to reminder that the default permission when you register is
'suggest', which means you only can suggest but can't submit your
translation.
For submission, you need a 'submit' privilege and your language lead
will give you the privilege.

If you're a language lead but you don't get the right of language lead,
please let me know. I'll set the proper right for you.

Thanks,
Aijin

Dear Translators/Localizers,

we are ready to start working for the next major release :-) .

You have done an incredible great job for 2.x and I look forward to
work with all of you on the localization of OpenOffice.org 3.0.

Let me share with you some information regarding translation schedule
and estimated volume we will need to localize

*Release schedule for OpenOffice.org 3.0 release:*
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOoRelease30
*
Final Translation Delivery Date:*
April 3rd, 2008

*Estimated New/Changed Translation Volume for 3.0 - 1st handoff*
GUI + Help: 20,000 words (compared to a full localized 2.4 OOo version)

*Languages Uploaded to Pootle (sunvirtuallab):*
http://www.sunvirtuallab.com:32300/projects/openoffice_org/

*Translation Schedule for Pootle Users:*
There will be 3 handovers:
1st Translation Handover: January 30th - YOU CAN START WORKING :-)
2nd Translation Handover: February 20th
3rd Translation Handover: March 13th

IMPORTANT: before each handover it is important that complete
translated files are uploaded to Pootle. It is NOT important that you
translate everything but please make sure you upload all you have
translated so far to Pootle (otherwise you may risk to lose the
translated content or to overwrite the content of the second handoff
with old translation).
After the Pootle content gets updated with the second handoff you'll
need to go to Pootle and download the files you want to translate.

I will send out reminders when the second and third translation
handover dates are approaching.

Best Regards,
Rafaella

2008-01-31 Thread Olivier Hallot

Hi Rafaella,
That is exactly what it does, although I thought initially that the
search function should return all ocurrences in one page. Actually I
know I have one "Gallery" string left untranslated in the UI, but the
question was "where in the file tree?".

I'm still exploring this interesting tool.

Olivier

Hi Olivier,

I am not sure I am reproducing exactly the issue you are having but if I

Gallery to the next by clicking the skip button. But I am not sure that

In the meeting I made a mistake. The IRC channel for Pootle is of course
#pootle on irc.freenode.net. (#zaf that I mentioned is where we discuss
South African localisation issues - of course people are welcome there
as well :-)

I'm often in #pootle, as well as other people using our tools.

Keep well

Hi Alexandro,

Alexandro Colorado wrote:

when is the delivery date for the first handover?
By February 19th you need to make sure that all files translated so far
are uploaded to Pootle. You don't need to have all approx. 2 words
translated by that date. What you need to make sure is to have all files
downoladed AND translated so far uploaded to Pootle.

Actually to be more precise, I should have said:

*Translation Schedule for Pootle Users:*

January 30th - 1st Translation Handover: January 30th - YOU CAN START
WORKING :-)

February 19th - upload all complete translated files and stop translating
February 20th - Pootle update with new content
February 21st - you can start translating again
March 12th - upload all complete translated files and stop translating
March 13th - Pootle update with new content
March 14th - you can start translating again
April 3rd - Final translation delivery

Does this answer your question?
