Re: [l10n-dev] Finalize CWS ooo3helpchanges1

2008-07-01 Thread Petr Dudacek

Hi Frank, all,

we checked the *css files in the Hungarian build for Windows. The fonts
are defined in the following way:

body, p, h1, h2, h3, h4, h5, h6, .listitem, .listitemintable,
.tablecontent, .tablecontentintable
{ font-family: Arial,"DejaVu Sans",FreeSans,"Nimbus Sans L","Arial
Unicode MS","Lucida Sans
Unicode",Tahoma,Lucida,Helvetica,Helmet,"Bitstream Vera Sans",sans-serif; }

.code, .codeintable, .example, .exampleintable, .literal,
.literalintable, .path, .pathintable
{ font-family: "Courier New","DejaVu Sans Mono",FreeMono,"Nimbus
Mono L","Lucida Sans Typewriter","Lucida Typewriter","Bitstream Vera
Sans Mono",Cumberland,Courier,Monaco,Monospaced; margin-top: 1pt;
margin-bottom: 1pt;}

Hungarian letters "ő" and "ű" are displayed fine in the help.

We can check also the linux build tomorrow (no linux machine around
right now). Please let me know if you need that.

Hope this helps,
Petr

I can't understand why a very minor change to CSS code should require
all this fuss. All we need in the Help is for link underlining to be
turned off, and for Times New Roman to be added to the body font. I
did these two changes myself. It's not as though we're waiting for
someone to edit the CSS. The file has been edited and supplied.

When we substitute this CSS file for the existing CSS file in our
Help, the changes work and the application is otherwise unaffected.

Then set the issue to fixed and approve the QA. I am just following
the process.

It seems extremely unlikely that turning off link underlining or
adding another font in the Help would cause build problems. So it is
not reasonable to delay these changes because the build doesn't work.

So then take the css supplied with the build, put it under a vi
office and check whether the fix is ok. If so, set the issues to
verified and after hu and pl have been verified, approve the CWS.

Marcin has already verified the fix for pl. We're just missing hu.

[l10n-dev] Re: [qa-dev] TCM l10n testing for 3.0 Beta

2008-05-07 Thread Petr Dudacek

Hi all,

in order to better track the results and scope of our testing, I created
a wiki page at
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/OOo_3_Beta_L10N_testing

Once you are done with your testing, please put a link to your TCM
report into the table to let the others know what has been tested.

In case you do a non-TCM testing, feel free to add information about
what has been done to the page as well.

Thanks,
Petr

Naoyuki Ishimura napsal(a):

Hi native lang project QA team,

Let's start TCM l10n testing with Beta binaries (3.0.0beta).
Beta binaries will be available your convenient mirror site soon.
I've added 3.0Beta in TCM with 'complete date' is 5/26.

In this round of l10n testing, we have new test cases for
3.0 new features (addition to adjustment old test case description
for 3.0), although translated test cases are only French
and Japanese as of today.
So translating new cases is also very welcome.

Thanks,
Naoyuki

[l10n-dev] reconstruction of the l10n site

2008-02-08 Thread Petr Dudacek

Hi all,

let me try to start discussion about the l10n.openoffice.org site
reconstruction.

For those who couldn't join either of the 2 last IRC sessions:
We are planning to redesign the l10n site in a similar way as the QA
(qa.openoffice.org) site. The major goals of the recostruction are:

- updating the site content
- making it easy for newcomers to join the project (clear information
about the l10n project, how to contribute etc.)

- simplifying the site navigation and structure

And we also have an open Action Item from the last IRC meeting.

I've created a wiki page with a schedule here:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/L10n_Web_Pages_Reloaded

Since the site reconstruction is not a task for a single person, I'd
like to ask you for help.

And now the Action Item:
What we need as part of Step 1 and 2, is to find people who will take
care of some of the documents that we currently have on the site. It's
the "Responsible person" column in the table here:
http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/L10n_Web_Pages_Reloaded#Documents_on_the_site

Feel free to take any of these documents and decide what to do with it -
there are basically 4 options, see Step 2 on the wiki page (don't forget
to add yourself to the table if you decide to be the Responsible person
for a specific document). I guess more than half of the documents can be
moved to the wiki, but this is what the Responsible person should decide.

Once we are ready with analyzing the current site content, we will
proceed to the creation of new content (information for newcomers etc.)
and designing the new site structure.

Comments are welcome!

Have a nice weekend,
Petr

Re: [l10n-dev] mnemonics

2007-06-19 Thread Petr Dudacek
Oops, now I see that my reply is not really an answer to your question
:) I described the situation where you are *changing* an *existing*
translation.

For new translations, the best way really is to look at the other items
and try to assign the mnemonics in a way that there are no duplicates.

Petr

Petr Dudacek napsal(a):

Hi Ale,

where possible, mnemonics should be kept on the same letter. If the
letter is not there, like in your case, the best solution is to look at
the menu (or dialog) for the other mnemonics and to assign the mnemonic
to an unused letter. The purpose of this is to avoid two items sharing
the same letter.

If the mnemonic is deleted, OOo will assign it automatically to a random
letter, but AFAIK the algorithm doesn't look for other mnemonics in the
same menu/dialog, so it may happen that the mnemonic is assigned to a
letter that is already used by another item.

Petr

Re: [l10n-dev] Need italian PO files

2007-04-03 Thread Petr Dudacek

Hi Enrico,

it seems that something went wrong during the sdf->po conversion. For
your case, the correct should probably be like this:

#: swslots.src#FN_CHANGE_PAGENUM.sfxslotinfo.text
msgid "Page Number"
msgstr "Numeri di pagina"

and similar for the remaining corrupted entries in the file.

The metadata information was somehow copied into the English string,
which is wrong.

The best would be to ask the one who provided you with the .po files
about this problem...

Regards,
Petr

So, i have downloaded the PO files of the italian translation.
I have a little doubt: when there is a string like this:

_: swslots.src#FN_CHANGE_PAGENUM.sfxslotinfo.text\n
Page Number

i have noticed that in the translation i have only:

Numeri pagina

The previous string is not repeated.
I thought that that string was necessary...

Thank you very much!
Enrico

attached in a corrected version).

Hi Marcin,

yes, there was an encoding problem with the translation files. These
files were fixed and reimported into the translation database. I'll
file a single "large" issue for that tomorrow and cc you there.

Petr

Hi all,

I've noticed that for Polish, some of the translations are
systematically garbled - characters "??" instead of our national
characters (this is not the case for other languages). It's easy to
find these in the sources, I can file a single issue for that, but
I'm not sure how should I assign the bug. I filed several such bugs
already but there's more and most of that is simply an error in
conversion:

72507 Polish: garbled characters in Fax Wizard
72509Polish: garbled characters in translation (source\ui\utlui\a
72510 Polish: garbled characters in glossary

Probably it would be easier to make it a single issue. What would
you suggest? File many bugs or a single large one?

regards,
Marcin

Re: [l10n-dev] Garbled translation strings

2006-12-14 Thread Petr Dudacek

FYI: it's issue 72581.

Marcin, since the strings for which you filed issues are now correct in
the database, I set your issues as fixed.

Petr

Hi all,

is there anyone who doesn't want the "Language ID" column to be removed?

Waiting for positive reply, if none arrives, I'll remove it.

Petr

+1, remove them please.

[l10n-dev] How to install more than one OO.o version on Solaris (was: [l10n-dev] How to install more than one OO.o version)

2005-11-14 Thread Petr Dudacek
Hi All,

there's been a discussion about how to install two versions of oo.o at
once (see the mail from Rafaella below). There were instructions for
Windows and Linux and now we have also a howto for Solaris. Enjoy!

Petr

How to install and use more than one version of OO.o on Solaris
---
(normal and keyid build in this case)

1. install the first version as usual (here it's the normal build) - it
   will be installed to /opt/openoffice.org2.0

2. copy the content of /opt/openoffice.org2.0
   to /opt/openoffice.org2.0_normal
   # cp -r /opt/openoffice.org2.0 /opt/openoffice.org2.0_normal

3. open file /opt/openoffice.org2.0_normal/program/bootstraprc with your
favourite text editor and change line

   UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org2

   to

   UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org2_normal

4. uninstall the version installed in step 1 (the normal version in
/opt/openoffice.org2.0_normal will not be affected by this
   uninstallation)

5. install the second version as usual (the keyid one in this case) -
it will be installed to /opt/openoffice.org2.0

6. copy the content of /opt/openoffice.org2.0
   to /opt/openoffice.org2.0_keyid
   # cp -r /opt/openoffice.org2.0 /opt/openoffice.org2.0_keyid

7. open file /opt/openoffice.org2.0_keyid/program/bootstraprc with your
favourite text editor and change line

   UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org2

   to

   UserInstallation=$SYSUSERCONFIG/.openoffice.org2_keyid

8. uninstall the version installed in step 5 (the normal version in
   /opt/openoffice.org2.0_normal and the keyid version
in /opt/openoffice.org2.0_keyid will not be affected by this
   uninstallation)

9. repeat the above steps if you wish to install more than two versions
   at once :)

10. it's now possible to launch
/opt/openoffice.org2.0_normal/program/swriter
and
/opt/openoffice.org2.0_keyid/program/swriter
and have the normal and keyid version launched at the same time
