[l10n-dev] Relief at the Galician Team (OpenOffice.org)
Hi all, Antón will relieve me at the Galician l10n team as coordinator: http://gl.openoffice.org/servlets/ReadMsg?list=dev&msgNo=58 I'm very proud for having had the opportunity to contribute to the OpenOffice.org project, coordinating the Galician language l10n team. The best of my experience here was feeling the personal engagement between both Sun and volunteerism individuals. That's a very advisable example for all the Open Source world, including the FSF subset. So I'd like to express my personal gratitude to all d...@l10n people, with a special remark to: - Sophie Gautier - Rafaella Braconi - the German Team. Impressive!! If I'll need to make a suggestion: updating and normalizing the l10n doc could be a good idea in order to improve the productivity of newcomers, specially at the QA side of the life (o: @Antón: just don't forget the QA mantra ;) Best regards, -- http://susinho.pagina.de/ - To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@l10n.openoffice.org For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@l10n.openoffice.org

Re: [l10n-dev] QATrack doubt
Hi Marcus and all there, I think having all the l10n relevant info in just one mailing list would be a helpful behaviour -at least from the generic l10n leader perspective. I can't figure any objection to that, but it would be nice to hear more experienced voices than mine on this matter. Thanks! Hi all, Does it exist any way to be notified when new builds (for Galician language) are available, and where to download them in order to proceed with testing in time? Re: [l10n-dev] Please prepare for 3.2RC2 l10n binaries sanity check next week
Hi all, Galician language team wants to proceed with RC2. But: as QAtrack didn't work for us in previous 3.2 builds (no language assigned, no builds, no notifications...) I'm afraid that it will probably neither work for RC2. I asked for QATrack permissions at the beginning (attached mail), without answer. Also we passed TCM tests for localization37 and Sanity Check for RC1 [1]. I still need to have QATrack to be turned operative. Could anybody please give me instructions on how to proceed in order to get RC2 binaries TCM tested, QATrack approved and then officially released, in this situation? Thanks to all the people who is helping us with this! :) [1] http://qa.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=108191 Naoyuki Ishimura escrebeu: > Hi l10n QA team, > > The 3.2RC2 l10n binaries should be ready at the beginning of next week. > > Please prepare for sanity check for RC2 binaries and approve them > in QATrack so that they get officially released. > > I believe current 3.2RC in TCM can be used for this sanity checking > but if you feel more specific 3.2RC2 in TCM is useful > for your team, please let me know. > > Thanks, > Naoyuki > > - > To unsubscribe, e-mail: dev-unsubscr...@l10n.openoffice.org > For additional commands, e-mail: dev-h...@l10n.openoffice.org -- http://susinho.pagina.de/ - Forwarded message from suso - From: suso To: d...@qa.openoffice.org Cc: sgautier@free.fr Subject: Requesting permissions to QATrack for Galician Language + Questions Date: Mon, 23 Nov 2009 11:37:38 +0100 User-Agent: Mutt/1.5.18 (2008-05-17) Hi all, I'm taking the coordination of the Galician Language localization team [1]. My closest objective is to continue providing OO.org official releases, including the 3.2 one which was translated, succesfully beta-builded and beeing tested by our community after a public testing calling. While trying to enter TCM testing -in order to provide some sistematic testing- I discovered the QATrack service. I can login in with my OO.org account, but I can't see nothing related with Galician Language there. After reading some doc [2,3] I see that I need to request permissions here, so here I am :) I'd like to say that I'm a little bit confussed with what is and what is not compulsory to produce an official release where related with QATrack. Also I feel unsure on how QATrack and TCM are related, specially in order to pass the tests of the release-sanity scenario... so any help/ info/ on that will be really appreciated. It will help me a lot finding an answer to these questions: - How are QATrack and TCM related? Or perhaps: are they independent services? - What is compulsory and what is not in order to obtain an official 3.2 at TCM/ QATrack? - I found binaries for Windows an Linux, but not for OSX/Solaris. Perhaps this is a matter of just seeking better; but, if not: might I ask to add those builds? Perhaps they will be produced after the Windows/ Linux ones? I hope to have not commited abuse of the QA Haiku! :) All the best. [l10n-dev] Taking on coordination of the gl Project
Hi all, First I'd like to express my gratitude by all the very good previous work of Francisco Javier: no Galician translation of this suite's recent releases would exists without its personal commitment. My complete name is Jesus Manuel Benítez Baleato (but people call me Suso, which is a popular Galician form of "Jesus"). Relevant is I have a technical background, since I was working mainly in systems administration area for the last 10 years -always in the open source side of life. Last two years I was managing the Open Source Reference and Services of Galicia (Mancomún) where l10n projects took a lot of protagonism thanks to the official support of the Galician Government -having an updated OpenOffice.org was included there. As a consequence of my work there, I found a very strong motivation to involve myself in the galician localization efforts of the most popular open source projects as a volunteer. So here I am :) If I'm right, my priority now might be including galician into the current release; at the same time, I might overcome the difficulties of the "one-man-team", trying to attract more people to the project. I have to learn a lot in a very little time so I'll appreciate any directions you can give me to achieve that purpose. For sure I'll need to spam you a little in the first days so to all members of this mailing list: please, accept my apologies for that.
