Aha! I confirmed it is available.

Oops. I also forget the way to deal with date in bash ... yes, Google
search helps me :)

All right. If I was in your position, I would also hesitate to open
such connection. I understand you and don't mind it. I can manage to do
with the CVS file.

Thank you for your effort, especially for cleaning the garbage of bouncer
logs. It is greatly helpful to analyze download counts.

Thanks,

Great! It's clean and doesn't have any garbage like what bouncer logs
have. And it is very good for us because we can open this file by Calc
and make fancy charts easily by ourselves.

Then, could you set up the cron please? I would like to use such CSV
fils for localized marketing analysis.

Hopefully, I want to have a direct access to the MySQL database because
scanning CSV files might be also slow. Anyway, I can start with CSV
files for the meanwhile.

Best regards,

Oops, a little typo, they're in a /bouncer/ directory:

http://marketing.openoffice.org/bouncer/.csv
e.g.http://marketing.openoffice.org/bouncer/200905.csv for the current month

I'll set the cron running - just need to remind myself how to do date
arithmetic in bash :-)

I'm not too keen on opening up my firewall for MySQL access via the
internet - could you load the csv's into MySQL (or Base) on your own PC?

Hi Martin,

thank you for notifying us in advance!

If the release is out, I'd happily blog and twitter about it to catch
attention. Just ping this list when it's ready, then I'm happy to shoot
off the posting :-)

I'm going to blog about this. Meanwhile I tested the extension on
Fedora 10 x86_64 (Red Hat build of 3.01). Every button bore the name
"TOREPLACE" but I guess it's normal at this stage. However, I could
not log in the wiki itself and I checked my username and password
several times. The wiki I tried to log in was OOo's.

Best,
Charles.

John, I've just tried but it doesn't work. I cannot access the file,
which should open inside the browser as a normal TXT file (I guess).
The browser tells me that there aren't any matches for my request.

Same here - don't know why.

The files are uploaded and accessible via Version Control (CVS):
http://marketing.openoffice.org/source/browse/marketing/www/bouncer/

For May 09:

Re: [marketing] screencast wording draft

2009-05-20 Thread Florian Effenberger

Hi Rosana,

I chose some new features for the screencast. I think it's better to
have a short screencast that highlights few features, rather than a long
one with too much information.
I kept the wording very close to the text at the "what's new" site.
Please give me your feedback regarding the wording or the selection of
the features. I would like to do the screencast as soon as possible and
start the screen recordings on Wednesday, so please send me your
feedback until the 20th.

thank you very much for your great work! I'm sorry that neither I nor
the marcons on this list came up with a proposal yet - I guess it's a
time with lots of work for all of us, so things sometimes take a little
bit longer than expected. :-(

I read through your text and I really like it! I just made some minor
modifications:

==
*Screencast OpenOffice.org 3.1*

Hello, this is an introduction to some of the new features in
OpenOffice.org 3.1.

Let's start with the improved screen appearance. OpenOffice.org now uses
a technique called anti-aliasing to improve the way it draws on screen
(lines, circles, etc). You will notice an immediate improvement in the
clarity of graphics - particularly charts - wherever they appear
throughout OpenOffice.org.

Dragging graphics is easier, as OpenOffice.org now shows you a 'shadow'
of the object, rather than just a dotted outline, when you drag an
object in a drawing across the screen. This makes it much easier to
place images accurately in complicated drawings.

Now it's also possible for a series of editors to carry out a structured
conversation through Comments, just by right-clicking on a Comment and
selecting 'Reply'. As a further enhancement, the Search facility now
also searches the text of Comments.

The zoom slider feature was a popular addition to Writer in
OpenOffice.org 3.0. With 3.1, it's available in Calc and Impress too,
giving quick and accurate control over the level of zoom of the display
on the screen.

Let's take a look at the new features in Calc:
Renaming sheets is now very simple. You just have to double-click on the
tab of a Calc sheet and the rename dialog box pops up.
Calc now gives you formula hot hints: it keeps the syntax of a formula
displayed right next to the cell as you type as a handy aide-memoire for
how to use a formula.

And there are also new chart features:
OpenOffice.org charts now offer a range of options for the placement of
axes. This feature has been in great demand, particularly from
educational users.
You may now also choose how charts handle missing data points - leave a
gap, assume zero, or continue the line through the missing value.

Impress now has convenient toolbar buttons to increase or decrease the
font size of text quickly and easily. Make your text fit perfectly in
seconds!

And now numerous new languages like Arabic are supported by OpenOffice.org.

There are a lot more new features. Download OpenOffice.org 3.1 and
discover them for yourself.

==

Thanks again!
Florian
