Maven Repository start-up

2009-06-26 Thread Range

Hi guys,

I am newbie to the Maven development. I have assigned to re-structure the
company project layout to speed-up the development.

We have an existing Subversion server.

I want to have a system such way, that our new Maven Repository copies the
source code form the Subversion repository periodically, and do compile, do
run test cases and do run the deployment.

If the compile fails sends and email to the repository admin and same for,
if test cases and deployment fails.

Any ideas to prompt me for a start? I have gained lot of knowledge and want
to start-up.

Thanks

AW: Maven Repository start-up

2009-06-26 Thread Robert.Klaus
Hi,

I think you are looking for a buildserver.

Maybe Hudson (https://hudson.dev.java.net/) or Continuum
(http://continuum.apache.org/) (there are others, google is your friend ;) )
is the missing puzzle piece in your build infrastructure.

HI Robert,

Many Thanks for the precious information that you have provided. I just got
a very good starting point and exploring information about CruiseControl,
Hudson and Apache Continuum.

Also Some Maven Integration with these Continuous integration servers.

Thanks again

[VOTE] Maven 2.2.0 (Fourth Attempt)

2009-06-26 Thread John Casey

Hi,

I've resolved the issue with plexus-interpolation, reverified the ITs,
and restaged the release. The URLs below have been updated. Let's see if
we can get through this vote without further interruption, I guess.

See also the documentation improvements listing below for more
information on docs related to this issue.

[NOTE] this release is contingent upon the successful release of Maven
Wagon 1.0-beta-6, which is taking place in a separate thread.

---

Okay, it looks like there haven't been many problems with the latest RC
of Maven 2.2.0. So, I'd like to put it up for a vote.

We've solved 28 issues for this release:

http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/ReleaseNote.jspa?projectId=10500styleName=Htmlversion=15103

You can download the source-release artifact which contains the
fully-buildable project structure, or the executable binaries from here:

https://repository.apache.org/content/repositories/maven-staging-014/

There will be a few of documentation improvements for this release as
well. I haven't deployed the site updates, but you can find the
documents here:

http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/site/trunk/src/site/apt/guides/mini/guide-building-jdk14-on-jdk15.apt
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/site/trunk/src/site/apt/guides/mini/guide-default-execution-ids.apt
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/maven/site/trunk/src/site/apt/guides/mini/guide-http-settings.apt

This vote will be open for 72 hours:

[ ] +1
[ ] +0
[ ] -1

Here's my +1.

Thanks,

-john

Re: Non-tranistive ZIPs

 Hi folks,

is there any way to change the transitive behaviour of ZIPs to
non-transitive? I tried to use Maven's extension mechanism with a jar
containing a component descriptor for zip files, where the
includesDependencies paremeter is set to true, but it seems to be
 ignored.

 Any hints?

The transitivity of a given artifact is controlled by the
artifactHandler, so you would need to introduce a new impl (probably
as an extension) to flip that value to false.

no, it is as I said, the transitivity is controlled by a property of the
DefaultArtifactHandler. Look in Maven's global component.xml, it uses it
also for e.g. jar and ear.

And just for the records: In the end I got it working. I have now a jar with
a component.xml declaring a zip component and add this as extension to the
POM. However, for every plugin that have to respect this changed behaviour,
I have to set the extensions flag to true also.

You're above mentioned CI system would then deploy to a repository
