Re: [native-lang] Translation of odt2daisy new version and website

2010-04-10 Thread Nino Novak
Just some additional info I just got from Vincent in reply to my
questions (note wrong email address given in L10N doc):

> 1) Should the element value of the DAISY TOP LEVEL element (found in
> File Properties > User defined properties) also be translated?
Absolutely not.
This is an "internal" variable used by odt2daisy.
(to avoid user remember this variable name, I made templates ;)

> 2) should the ott template files be renamed to destination language
> terms or left english?
No.
The title is translated as described in documentation:
'File' > 'Properties' > 'Description' then translate the 'Title' field
(to avoid character encoding issues ;)

> 3) email address given in the document (vspie...@sourceforge.net) is
wrong

Sorry for this, after review it should be:
vspiewak AT users.sourceforge.net

Vincent's work is brilliant and has already helped many; his presentation last
OOoCon resulted in a standing ovation.

But what really counts is use. Your efforts will help!

If nobody complains, I'm going to take the German (de-DE) translation.

In some of the templates, under "File > Properties > User defined
properties" there is an element named DAISY TOP LEVEL with value
"chapter". Translate it or leave it?

[native-lang] Translation of odt2daisy new version and website

2010-04-10 Thread Sophie

Hello all,

This is a call to help on the translation of odt2daisy [1] (this is the
format who allow visually impaired people to read books :-).

Vincent is on need for help because the translations on the website are
outdated and there is a new version (2.1) of odt2daisy extension.
This version can now produce Full DAISY books playable on any MP3
player. 27 audiolanguages can be produced using eSpeak (out of the box
on Linux, and with eSpeak installation on Windows.

The full documentation on how to translate odt2daisy:
http://odt2daisy.sourceforge.net/l10n/L10N_Documentation.odt
http://odt2daisy.sourceforge.net/l10n/L10N_Documentation.pdf

Thanks a lot in advance for your help and also thanks a lot to Vincent
for this new release!

Kind regards
Sophie
