I downloaded the archive and was able to run it on Win10 with a very
restricted configuration...

Re: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

2020-02-19 Thread tygrysek HD
Please try to edit the netbeans\etc\netbeans.conf file and try to add on
the ends of file this content:
netbeans_jdkhome="path to your java jdk or jre"

For me it looks as below:
netbeans_jdkhome="c:\Program Files\AdoptOpenJDK\jdk-13.0.2.8-hotspot"

After that try to run NetBean again.

 Samiul,

Naive question, do you try to execute the .exe file or other binary
versions? Your error message seems to me like you are trying to launch
 the
Linux/MacOS executables which are actually shell scripts...

Yes, every release will provide installers.

You seem to be new to the concept of the command prompt. Here's info on it
for Windows 10:

Naive question, do you try to execute the .exe file or other binary
versions? Your error message seems to me like you are trying to launch the
Linux/MacOS executables which are actually shell scripts...

Re: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

2020-02-19 Thread Fabian Bahle
Hello Samiul,

The checksum seems to be correct, but how did you try to start NetBeans? Which
operating system are you using? Is it macOS? For beta versions there is no
macOS App, so you have to start NetBeans with its script file under
bin/netbeans, just open a Terminal and navigate to the extracted
netbeans-11.3-beta3-bin.zip and there into the bin folder, then try to execute
this command: ./netbeans
If you still have issues, please describe as detailed as possible what you did
and at which point you get the error, otherwise it’s hard to keep guessing
where your problem could be.

Regards,
Fabian

I can run netbeans 11.3 beta-3. Especially because of its new flat laf
theme. But right now it's not working.

Hi Eric. It is an issue I reported. I marked it a blocker, but I am

willing

to downgrade it, since it is a blocker only for a corporate user with

a

particular proxy and lacking appropriate information.
It actually stopped me until I figured out what the cause was.
I will downgrade it today.

Ok,
As I was "RC" for NetBeans maven artefacts.
I will prepare and append the standard vote with the maven artefacts. Saving

RE: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

2020-02-13 Thread Eric Barboni
Hi,
It's beta, and a feature release. Apache NetBeans 12.0 will have NetCAT
process for testing you may join if you want. Help always appreciated.

In the zip under bin you will have netbeans64.exe. for x64 windows.

It's good to have issue filled in jira. And to participate in helping to
reproduce the issues and participate on dev list.

Jira contains a lots of issues, some are fixed and not resolved some are not
triaged.

If you already opened some recall them :D.

Best Regards
Eric

Objet : RE: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

Is this stable and does it contain the .exe for WIN 10 pro 64bit or is there
another link?

Thank you and congrats...

I'll need to log a bug ticket but there are a couple quirks that need
attention.

One that Netbeans shows errors with when in reality (typescript) they're not
errors.

One where you go to locate folders and the folder name is cut off and you
cannot expand to the right to show the entire folder name

One where you hit ALT-ENTER for hints but most times, it simply repeats what
the error is an there are no hints to correct the code. This would be dandy
if you could fix this although, I know, you cannot know every single error.

I will say that what Netbeans catches (11.2) my other colleagues using
WebStorm or Visual Studio Code, DO NOT see. Kudo's to you all for great
work.

Thank you.

Re: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

2020-02-13 Thread Scott Palmer
Some Gradle subprojects are missing ...
"gradle projects" from the command-line shows me:
Root project 'KayakPluginsRepo'
+--- Project ':Installer'
+--- Project ':KayakPluginsRepoClient'
+--- Project ':KayakPluginsRepoClientGui'
+--- Project ':KayakPluginsRepoClientGuiDistribution'
+--- Project ':KayakPluginsRepoModel'
+--- Project ':KayakPluginsRepoServer'
\--- Project ':KayakPluginsRepoServerDistribution'

But in the NB GUI only :KayakPluginsRepoModel is shown as a subproject.

This is after I fixed something in the build script of a different
subproject and right-clicked the parent project and selected "Reload
Project". Prior to that it didn't show any subprojects due the the project
error. Now there are no complaints of errors, but still missing
subprojects.

RE: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

2020-02-12 Thread peter

Kudo's to you all for great
work.

Thank you.

Subject: Apache NetBeans 11.3-beta3 available

Dear Apache NetBeans community,

The third beta build for Apache 11.3 is available.

Two PR that give the complete picture of what was added for this milestone.

https://github.com/apache/netbeans/pull/1944

https://github.com/apache/netbeans/pull/1913

A rough sum up of the changes:

Lots of UI fix

More FlatLaf,

More cleanup for jdk 14

More gradle project fix

For windows users:

A revert to WindowsNotifier for windows filestystem

There is no critical / blocker associated to release 11.3 except this

https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-3763.

This is maven related I guess and very specific to multiple artefacts
classifier for on artefacts. No very frequent IMHO, maybe we can put it to
12.0

Artefact are here:

ns/job/release113/11/artifact/dist/

./netbeans-11.3-beta3-source.zip

Let me know if it's ready enough to create the first voting candidate or a
beta 4.

Happy testing

Best Regards

Eric
