Re: OpenMeetings and H323

2013-02-28 Thread Vieri
This may be going slightly off-topic but if OM doesn't have direct H323
support, did anyone succeed getting h323 support in Asterisk 11 and bridging
h323 calls via red5sip to OM?

I think the hard/experimental part is getting good and stable h323 support
within Asterisk 11. That's why I was asking if anyone sees another solution
that doesn't require using Asterisk.

Thanks for your suggestion Timur.

red5sip can work with any other SIP sever, not only Asterisk (but in this
case some integration features like SIP dialer in OM wouldn't work).
You could use some other PBX that has good h323 and SIP support, that will
receive h323 calls and redirect them to Asterisk with red5sip.

Re: h264 video recording

2013-02-28 Thread Maxim Solodovnik
The issue seems to be resolved
due to copy/paste parameters of H264 and camera were not in sync.
After code generalization everything is saved as expected

I'm going to commit my changes
and ask Stephen Cottham to update his build instructions

Is it OK?

Looks good, just running thru the install with it now and will update as I go.

Will need to check the differences for Debian but I'll start with Ubuntu.

[ANNOUNCE] SIP in Openmeetings is changed

2013-02-28 Thread Maxim Solodovnik
Hello All,

I would like to announce major changes in SIP in upcoming 2.1 release

   1. Confbridge is used instead of MeetMe.
   2. OM video codec is changed to be H264
   3. Calls to OM rooms will not start until there is no OM users in the
room, and will automatically ends as soon as last user will leave the room.

All changes above were made to enable SIP video conferences and increase
SIP integration stability. (currently in progress)

Intergation instruction is up to date and available here:
http://openmeetings.apache.org/red5sip-integration_2.1.html

The only known issue at the moment is: red5sip will not reconnect to OM
after OM was restarted (going to fix)

I would like to get feedback regarding SIP integration: documentation,
issues, improvements etc. before release.

Thanks in advance

2013-02-28 Thread Jeff Clay
If going to app_confbridge then make sure to always use the latest stable
releases of Asterisk. Confbridge underwent a major rewrite/overhaul for
Asterisk 10.0 and has since had many additional fixes. Also, meetme has options
that help conserve bandwidth such as talk detection; where audio (silence or
background noise) from non-talking users isn't mixed in the audio bridge
(there's a silence threshold to configure this). Meeme has options to auto drop
a bridge once last user leaves.

For a comparison/note from the devs about differences when Confbridge was
overhauled https://wiki.asterisk.org/wiki/display/AST/ConfBridge+10

For latest Meetme info see

This step in Asterisk configuration instruction is not needed:
"Ensure dahdi was installed successfully:
modprobe dahdi"

DAHDI is unused in new setup.

RE: h264 video recording

2013-02-28 Thread Stephen Cottham
Hey Maxim,

Ive built the OM2.1 with the H264 codec support.

I have recorded a video and exported it out and it plays fine, im assuming that
the H264 codec is being used in the latest SVN for 2.1?

If not do you want me to test it out?

If it is then it appears to be working fine and I will upload the document for
Ubuntu 12.10.

Cheers

RE: h264 video recording

2013-02-28 Thread Stephen Cottham
Ok just tested that now and can confirm the recording from interview plays back
fine, and doing an inspection on the file codec shows:

MPEG-4 Video (FMP4)
Resolution 640x240
Frame rate: 25
Decoded format: Planar 4:2:0 YUV

Looks good from my end, I'll upload the document to the wiki now.

Cheers

Re: [ANNOUNCE] SIP in Openmeetings is changed

2013-02-28 Thread Vieri
Hi,

According to the OM documentation:
- Add user for the "SIP Transport":
[red5sip_user]
- edit /etc/asterisk/extconfig.conf:
sippeers => odbc,asterisk,sipusers

Maybe I'm mistaken but if you use Asterisk Realtime for sip peers and users
then maybe the more natural way of adding "red5sip_user" isn't in the sip.conf
plain text file but in the sipusers SQL table.

Is there a particular reason you'd want to set it in sip.conf?

It is easier to make changes to this user while debugging :)
I saw no issues having OM users in DB and red5sip_user in config.

Additionally DB table is created after first OM start, and can be
created/dropped on install/uninstall
this way red5sip_user is immutable to such changes

SOAP Interface for next Page on Whiteboard

2013-02-28 Thread Thorsten Peters
Hey Folks,

first of all: Thanks for your great work!

And now i would like to ask for some help .Im trying to implement an
SOAPInterface wich enables me to do the "next Page Command" (loaded PPT or PDF
on whiteboard) from an C#/C++ Application. I have already written a method wich
returns the whiteBoard-Object but now I'm stuck.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to move on at this point. Or how to
solve my problem the other way?

Many thanks in advance for you help!

Kind Regards,

Thorsten

2013-02-28 Thread Rene' Rosenbaum

Dear Artyom,
thanks for all this information. Alright, will check out the Eclipse
plugIn and proposed strategy for locating the desired sources.

Anyone else, who might have other hints and best practices?
Thanks in advance,
Rene'

Hello, Rene.
I'm new developer too and I work on Openmeetings just a couple of
month but I can share my client-side experience. First of all you
should know that we have two flash layer. First layer is a basic
interface in flash 8. First layer sources are contained in
WebContent/src folder. Second layer is video interface in flash 11,
contained in WebContent/swf10.

When I needed to find required part of source, I found appropriate
string in the localization file (WebContent/languages) and searched
its id in whole source folder. This method might help to start coding
without understanding structure of folders and files. For coding on
OpenLaszlo I use Spklet Text Editor. It's a plugin for Eclipse.

It's what I can say about client-side in general. Maybe someone could
add something more. Also I want to note that we could help you better
if you ask us concrete questions.

2013/2/26 Rene' Rosenbaum :

Hi all,
I'm new to OM development and would like to adapt the user interface to my
purposes. I thought the interface is pure Flash and could be modified this
way. However, it seems OpenLaszlo is compiling the swfs. I've never done
programming in OpenLaszlo. Is there a programming documentation for
OpenLaszlo in OM or may someone help me understanding the structure/purpose
of the different lzx-folders/files for OM? At which file(s) should I look
first to get an entry into the system? Which development tools do you
propose to adapt the user interface (use Eclipse right now, but not whether
this is sufficient or best option)? Any help is appreciated!
Cheers,
Rene'

Hi Thorsten,

I can trace/documentate and give you the command that is send to the client
but there is currently no way you can send this command via SOAP.
You would first need to create a new SOAP call that forwards that call to
the correct API call in the ScopeApplicationAdapter which then sends it to
the client and will perform that change in the UI.
