Yes, this can (and should) be done by RE, if we decide drop the VCS keywords. Most probably not m33, but at some time in the near future. Another huge change which could be done in the same milestone is to convert tabs to 4 spaces, something I know Kendy and some others are advocating. Great that you are willing to do the keyword drop. (As I wrote before, if you go touch every file's header, anyway, please also consider fixing the effects caused by http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=94480. Especially with Emacs' show-trailing-whitespace on, those headers look plain ugly now, where clean should be king.) Regarding the tab conversion, I guess such a one-time conversion won't help much unless we could ensure that no new tabs get introduced with new commits. -Stephan - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I've long stuck /* vi:set tabstop=4 shiftwidth=4 expandtab: */ at the bottom of the .?xx files that I own in OOo, perhaps something like that plus the emacs equivalent could be mass stuffed into the header region to aid not putting them into .?xx files in the first place And subversion (like cvs) has a precommit hook that can e.g. reject files with tabs in them. e.g. http://wordaligned.org/articles/a-subversion-pre-commit-hook C. - To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
[dev] Client in search of a programmer
Hello, One of my training clients has some functionality they would like to see in OpenOffice.org. Would it be appropriate for them to post the description of what they want, to the list, or post to the list a link where interested developers could go? What would be the proper procedure for them to follow, to find someone whom they would pay to write an extension for them? Re: [dev] Extending Open Office to Flash
Hi Robert, Thankfully, since the formats are all entirely open, you should be able to create your own flash parser: http://www.oasis-open.org/committees/tc_home.php?wg_abbrev=office I do believe flash would have no issues dealing with the zip compression, or the XML file format that actual documents are stored in. Currently the Incubator category has been set up to provide some space to test new ideas (see: http://projects.openoffice.org/incubator.html The Incubator category exists to provide a space for community members to test ideas. These ideas can be coding or not. There is a fairly active community project supporting odf with members from a wide range of interests [EMAIL PROTECTED] Is there a need for a specific OOo project for odf? One reason to have a project outside the OOo community is to demonstrate that odf is a universal open format and not simply associated with OOo and/or Sun. There could be good reasons to have two odf support groups but generally fragmentation is less effective in maximising resources. There are members of the odfellowship who would probably not ever become members of the OOo community but there are many members who are OOo community members. -- Ian Ofqual Accredited IT Qualifications A new approach to assessment for learning www.theINGOTs.org - 01827 305940 You have received this email from the following company: The Learning Machine Limited, Reg Office, 36 Ashby Road, Tamworth, Staffordshire, B79 8AQ. [dev] Education project invited to FSOSS 2008 (Toronto, Canada)
Hello list, FYI Eric Bechard has been invited to represent us at FSOSS 2008 (Toronto, Cananda) [1]. Invitation was by Frank Hecker, (Mozilla Foundation) and several professors from Seneca College (Canada) [2] Main aim for Eric's presentation would be 1. Present Education Project [3] 2. Describe project and what we do to, what works, what does not, in the perspective of the Open Source Community. 3. Propose students an application based on real bugs, missing features and write code for Openoffice.org [1] http://fsoss.senecac.on.ca/2008/ [2] http://www.senecac.on.ca/ [3] http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Education_Project Lets discuss with ericb2 (irc nick) or post to this thread, in case we have *suggestions* for him.
