Releases of Thrift are very expensive (time-wise), so we only do them twice a year. Have you tried the master branch of thrift? As far as I know the boost/predef deprecation warnings were resolved since 0.12.0 was released. I found some openssl deprecations as well, I will submit a PR to clean that up in a backwards-compatible way. It also sounds like you are building with "warnings as errors". It looks like the Haskell site is returning valid binaries again - builds are passing. Re: Erlang is not working
Good news, l found the issue was in the test/tests.py file, where we set the command line options to run erlang. After updating to rebar3 the "ebin" directory is in a different location. Erlang is not working
Unfortunately rebar3 was not in the docker container for our CI builds, which means erlang wasn't being built at all, and it looks like erlang is now completely broken. Whether using OTP 20 or OTP 22, erlang doesn't work with any of the other languages. This can be seen in the latest pull request for CI updates: https://github.com/apache/thrift/pull/1817 It is easily reproducible inside the docker build container. If someone who knows erlang could look into this, it would be great. We cannot start the 0.13.0 release cycle with a regression like this. - Jim
Need help with erlang test failure, blocking thrift CI build
I have a feature test failing when I update the docker build environment to erlang 22. It looks like no TLS is working. I believe they disabled TLSv1.0 and TLSv1.1 in this release of the ssl package (9.3.x). That said, could someone tell me how to fix this? I do not know erlang. Are we missing a dependency in the rebar script on ssl perhaps?
