As I've seen, 1. Changing org.wso2.carbon.appfactory.events.notification/1.0.0 to org.wso2.carbon.appfactory.events.notification in appfactory/pom.xml 2. Changing the version of pom.xml of appfactory/org.wso2.carbon.appfactory.events.notification/pom.xml from 1.0.0-SNAPSHOT to 1.0.0 3. Re: [Dev] C-App synchronization in a Carbon cluster
On Thu, Jul 26, 2012 at 12:17 AM, Isuru Suriarachchi is...@wso2.com wrote: Oh.. I was planning to create different directories for different tenants inside repository/carbonapps. But looks like I've missed that. I'll fix it and let you know.. Tenants have their own temp directory right? If so, why can't we use those directories to store these? Thanks, ~Isuru On Wed, Jul 25, 2012 at 10:31 PM, Charitha Kankanamge chari...@wso2.comwrote: Hi, It seems we have not thought about MT aspects of this model. Now, the carbonapps directory is taken out from repository/deployment/server and the all CApps will be stored in common carbonapps directory regardless of the tenant who deployed CApp. Because of this, any tenant can see others CApps :( I came across this [1] issue in latest AS probably because of this change. [1]https://wso2.org/jira/browse/CARBON-13691 On Fri, Jul 6, 2012 at 6:05 PM, Isuru Suriarachchi is...@wso2.comwrote: Hi all, I'm trying to fix [1]. Here's the root cause for this issue.. Imagine a Carbon cluster with 2 nodes where the svn based deployment synchronizer (DS) is configured. When a C-App is deployed to node1, it is extracted and individual artifacts are copied into respective hot directories. When the DS runs for the first time, it copies the C-App into node2 and it will be deployed there. When the DS runs again in node1, it will try to copy the individual artifacts to node2. But node2 already has those artifacts as the C-App id already deployed in node2. Therefore an svn conflict occurs. To resolve this issue, there are two possible options.. 1. Keeping all artifacts coming from C-Apps out of the repository (repository/deployment/server) 2. Keeping the original C-App out of the repository Initially I tried option 1 above and programetically called the relevant deployers for individual artifacts. But this creates lot of problems with some artifacts (Ex: ESB stuff). Therefore, I'm trying to solve the initial problem using option 2 above. I've taken the carbonapps directory out of repository/deployment/server directory and kept it as repository/carbonapps (we can change this if needed). Still the carbonapps directory has hot deployment capabilities. But it won't be synchronized by the DS. So when a C-App is deployed into node 1, it will be extracted and only the individual artifacts will be copied into the repository. When the DS runs, all needed artifacts will be synced to node 2. Therefore, functionality wise, there won't be any issues on node 2. But if someone logs into the management console of node 2 and go to the C-App list, nothing will be listed. Is this something we have to fix? Because anyway in a RW/RO cluster, user can't use the management console of the slave node. WDYT?? Every stub/component/feature/product should have a versioned folder inside them. Otherwise how are you going to do a patch/minor release for the above. For example after releasing AF 1.0.0, you decide to release AF 1.0.1. You need to branch the AF components/features/stubs for this (if there are changes in them). Then you cannot do it with this folder structure. Just checked. You are correct our events bundle doesn't have a versioned folder (other appfactory components do have such a version numbered folder) and I think it is a miss on our side. For now lets have KasunG's commit to enable the rest of the team to continue. Re: [Dev] Deployment Synchroniser(SVN based) fail to sync new tenants applications
Hi, Had a chat with Azeez regarding this. This is how the behavior of the scenario should be. When a tenant creates an artifact on the Master node, a cluster message is sent asking the slaves to update themselves. However, if the tenant is not loaded on the slave node, it should ignore that message since it does not make sense to load the repo of a tenant which still hasn't been loaded. When a request comes to the slave, it should at that point do a checkout of the artifacts. The problem now is, the slave node does not ignore the cluster message sent from the Master. Therefore, it attempts to engage the deployment synchronizer on a non existent directory. So AFAIU, the fix for this issue should be to ensure the slave node ignores tenant specific cluster messages if the particular tenant is not loaded. Is this something that we can fix before the current AS release? Thanks, NuwanD. This is the problem we are facing. In a clustered environment, when we create a tenant on the master node, the same tenant does not get created on the slaves nodes automatically. Therefore, the relevant tenant artifact directories (ex: repository/tenants/1) do not get created on the slave nodes. When a tenant creates an artifact on the Master node, the deployment synchronizer attempts to sync it on the Slave nodes. This results in an error since the relevant directories have not been created on the slave nodes. One possible solution to this is to create the directories (if they are missing) on the slave nodes at deployment synchronization. But I doubt that this is the proper solution since this will create deployment directories for a non-existent tenant. The other solution I see is to find a way to synchronize tenant accounts across the cluster. This will ensure that deployment directories will be created on all instances at the time of tenant creation. In Stratos, if tenant created in one node of cluster and next time tenant is directed to another node by load balancer, how that is handled? When a tenant is loaded on any node, the full depsync (update) is done before the tenant becomes active. So, was this tested before and broke later? Or do we have to have complete Stratos setup to get this done? IMO if we can find a solution for that, which a must requirement we can have a solution for this as well. Is there any other better way to solve this? Thanks, NuwanD. Will discuss on this further to decide on the proper solution. Thanks, NuwanD. Correcting the version of the dependency org.wso2.carbon.appfactory.application.mgt to 1.0.0 makes it work. I'm not sure whether this is the right approach though. +1 I dont think this is correct. We'll fix this ASAP. When merging with trunk I missed to add this version properly. Sorry for the inconvenience and I will fix this. But I have removed appfactory related stuff from main build until I verify the build status. I wonder how the build fails because it is not yet in the build. Re: [Dev] [Bamboo-Build] WSO2 Carbon BRANCH Platform_4.0.0 #32 has FAILED. Change made by 18 authors.
Hi Isuru, I just took a checkout of branch/greg to my machine and it was successfully checked out. When I did svn propget -R . in the modules/distribution dir, I see only the followings. src/main/resources - https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/carbon/platform/trunk/products/bps/modules/distribution/sql/hthumantask/sql https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/carbon/platform/trunk/products/bps/modules/distribution/confhumantask/conf https://svn.wso2.org/repos/wso2/carbon/platform/trunk/products/bps/modules/distribution/sql/attachment-mgtattachment-mgt/sql It seems there had been a svn:external to the url mentioned in the build error log and now it has been removed and those resources are directly added to svn. But due to some reason, svn has locked that in Bamboo. If we delete the existing checkout and take a new checkout every time, how the check out fails? Can you try doing a svn cleanup from branch/platform level or restarting the svn client of the bamboo machine? Regards, AmilaM. Re: [Dev] SVN issue in Apimgt product
Hi Kasun, Check out this to a local location and check for the mentioned external and see whether there is an issue for real. I did this for g-reg and found out nothing was wrong, but something wrong in bamboo side (or the svn client in that machine). Regards, AmilaM. I was planning to create different directories for different tenants inside repository/carbonapps. But looks like I've missed that. I'll fix it and let you know.. Tenants have their own temp directory right? If so, why can't we use those directories to store these? Yes, that's better than having another set of tenant spaces under repository/carbonapps. So I fixed it that way and tested with ST and tenants. I'm going to commit it now. Charitha, please test it with GD on/off as well on next pack. Thanks, ~Isuru Thanks, ~Isuru On Wed, Jul 25, 2012 at 10:31 PM, Charitha Kankanamge chari...@wso2.comwrote: Hi, It seems we have not thought about MT aspects of this model. WDYT??
