I haven't done any serious intensive stress testing yet (like bang it against a wall or anything), but there hasn't been ANY problems with it so far. Nice indeed, they say it even has the rackmount interface :) The only thing is it has PCI/ISA interface which is not always the best solution, while edgeport use USB port. Re: For your kind attention!
1)open minicom or any serial terminal and type ATI you should get Siemens firmware version 2)if you loose power during the upgrade.. well, what happens if you drop a hummer on your siemens ? I think these are equal, and the answer would be - go to the service center. - Original Message - From: "Patrick Mignott" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "Alexei Pashkovsky" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2001 6:39 PM Subject: Re: For your kind attention! two questions, how do i know what frameware my m20t is running? also what if i lose power during upgrade? what recover efforts can be made? - Original Message - From: "Alexei Pashkovsky" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, October 30, 2001 12:50 AM Subject: Re: For your kind attention! Re: For your kind attention!
No Windoze, pure Linux. System runs Mandrake 7, and it's a dual PIII with 1Gb RAM Compaq Server. Ionetworks USB drivers are very nice and fun to use, the only thing I miss in their devices are rack compatibility for rack mounting .. and siemens didn't think about it neither. > If you wonder how one connected 8 serial devices to a PC, check this : > http://www.ionetworks.com/products/edgeport.html This is indeed interesting, since we would need that kind of setup Are you running Linux system or Windows? I noticed that IOnetworks has Linux drivers, I'm just interested if they are reliable. Switching to Windows isn't really an option for us. -- Mikko Kiesilä +358 40 900 9924 [EMAIL PROTECTED]

For your kind attention!
Hi Tolj, I am presently setting up Kannel to run as an SMS gateway using compiled version of 1.0.3. I am using a siemens GSM modem as the SMSC. With my present configurations, I can send messages through my smsc from the admin html console via a browser. But messages sent to me are not received and no indications of these are made in any form, even in the logs. I am not receiving messages via the smsc. Is there a specific receive-thread that must be started before messages can be recieved? Does the bearerbox listen continuosly to the smsc and is there a way I can dictate the frequency at which the bearerbox retrieves messages from the smsc(phone modem). Will appreciate prompt response. Thanks. = Idowu O.
