I am able to get Fedora Workstation starting only in degraded mode, using
TroubleShooting --> basic graphics mode
I am not able to get a console. I don't know how to debug this stuff.

Aahhh. Good job ! Now I understand ! You are right !
This Requires should be a BuildRequires, correct,
(and I was right too ;) because in my environment (rpmbuild) I have this
mujs-devel package installed, and the files landed in my BUILDROOT. They
existed as I emailed previously.

My problem is : I don't know how to debug in the mock environment. (But, I
should persevere: there is always a solution, you proved it to me ;)

You are really skilled for such work. I wish I could help you with your
packages or package reviews, but I really dislike OCaml (as Java or Go, or
...)
Maybe from Sage or Python related stuff ?
Let me know (using my personal address) how I could help you there, and I
will try... Point is: I am not very active, because of so many complicated
things to grasp before solving problems !

What may lead you to this conclusion ?
My observation is:
The %make_install step install all files, shared and static libraries
in /BUILDROOT/libfungw-1.2.0-1.fc35.x86_64/usr/lib64 dir
libfungw_mujs.a
libfungw_mujs.so.1
libfungw_mujs.so.1.2
libfungw_mujs.so.1.2.0

And post install, I do want to remove those static libs.
libfungw_mujs.a
in fact, the libfungw*.a

This is happening correctly when I "rpmbuild file.spec", but is not OK with
mock.

You removed the static libraries from those locations, but
> there are no shared libraries there.

There are
(see above)

I still don't understand

Re: Self Introduction: Gonçalo Pereira

2020-03-08 Thread Alain Vigne
Hi,
I am Alain, co-maintainer of Qucs, because I proposed to help Geoffrey with
Fedora Electonic Lab related software.
I saw Qucs was FTBFS, and planed to update to "latest" 0.0.19, or
0.0.20-rc2 ? But I did not dedicate enough time. Sigh.
I am not an experienced packager, nor developer. Just an Electrical
Engineer...

I am not sure a revival of freehdl is a good idea, as the project seems
dead upstream.
How familiar with those software are you ? Did you subscribe to the Qucs
dev list ? Did you contact upstream already ?

I wonder if an "Electronic Lab" mailing list exists ? and if such
discussions could better happen there, and not disturbing all Fedora devs...
Else, I propose to start a private thread of some sort.

Kind regards
Alain

Re: Co-Maintainers wanted for Pantheon / elementary apps (Vala / GObject / GTK+)

2020-02-12 Thread Alain Vigne
Hello Fabio

I am not very active, and not a software engineer, but Vala/GTK
applications are kind of my hobby, and I had the opportunity to take a look
at elementary applications (code wise too).
You are maintaining much more packages I can ever pretend to maintain, so
this will be a little help.
But I am ready to lend a hand, if I can get some guidance, milestones, and
if we can work together... ?

I am CET time zone based. Do you work from the USA ?

My FAS is: avigne.
Keep me posted.

Re: Unresponsive Maintainer: Chitlesh Goorah

2019-09-02 Thread Alain Vigne
Hi Geoffrey
I am Alain, FAS: avigne, a micro-electronic engineer, mainly interested in
CAD/EDA tools.
I started my journey to become a Fedora packager with this spin in mind (+
introducing another PCB tool: pcb-rnd)
I have been in contact with Chitlesh, and also with Kiara, who both stepped
down the FEL effort.

I volunteered to make things moving, but it was already an overwhelming
task to package one new package, and at the time, had no idea how to handle
a spin. Now, I am a bit more familiar with Fedora stuff, so I might be
helpful there... ?
I already proposed to co-maintain some packages, without success (I know
now, I should file multiple tickets to claim the packages. Just didn't take
the time for this bureaucracy).
Some packages need updates, but some need a retirement, to be replaced with
some other projects.

What is your main concern with this spin?
Can we team up to make this moving again?
Who else has an interest in FEL?

Best regards
Alain

Re: Orphaning packages

2019-04-07 Thread Alain Vigne
Hello Kiara

I volunteer to become package maintainer for

   - linsmith

my FAS is: avigne

About piklab, upstream seems dead. I suggest to retire it.

Concerning ahkab (and python-deltasigma from same author) unfortunately,
project seem to stale and can not compete with ngspice ?

If you think python-deltasigma has some future and merit to stay in Fedora,
I might maintain it. Otherwise, let it be retired.

Update a package with new upstream release

2018-11-25 Thread Alain Vigne
Upstream releases a new version.
I changed the .spec file, generate a srpm file, then perform again

$ fedpgk import

This creates a tar.gz file in my git dir, and I did commit this file.
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/pcb-rnd/blob/master/f/pcb-rnd-2.1.0.tar.gz

I think this is wrong, so:
1. Can I git delete / push this tar.gz file ? Other action ?
2. It is not a fedpkg import command to use ? fedpkg new-sources ? How ?
3. Is there a documentation related to these maintenance actions ?

Thanks for your help.

Re: How to get a list of C-only packages to review ?

2018-11-18 Thread Alain Vigne
Agree, once the .spec file is opened, it is obvious.

But the list such as :
https://fedoraproject.org/PackageReviewStatus/NEW.html
doesn't give you easy access to the info: you have to open the BZ, then
look for the file (if you are lucky). Worst case is when .spec file needs
to be extracted (takes even more time !)

Also, how in BZ, do you state there is no need for reviewer, because review
already started ?
For example:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1636668
?

I think I am looking for a kind of "TODO" task list I can contribute on.

How to get a list of C-only packages to review ?

2018-11-18 Thread Alain Vigne
As a new packager, I understand peer-reviewing packages is very important,
but it takes me (a lot of) time, and I do not have the necessary skills to
review any kind of packages (Go, Python, Rust, Java, Javascript, Ruby, ...
you name it)

That is why I can offer to review packages of C libs, apps, or GNOME apps,
Vala programs, or ..?, if I can be aware of such review to do.

How do I get such a list ?

Wayland hangs (black screen) after dnf update to Fedora 29

2018-11-03 Thread Alain Vigne
Hi everyone
TLDR; I had a working Wayland Gnome Desktop in f28. Not anymore with f29.

Yesterday, I "dnf upgrade" my f28 to f29 ... to find a black screen when I
want to login to my Gnome session :(

The boot is OK till the gdm login screen, but when I enter my password, the
screen turns black, and the keyboard is locked (non-responsive, Num Lock
does not toggle, nor caps lock).
Then I don't know how to recover control, as no key binding is effective,
no mouse, no screen :(I power off the machine)

I successfully launched the desktop using "startx" from my user account
after booting with runlevel=3, so I think there is an issue with Wayland !

> lspci|grep "VGA"
01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation GM206 [GeForce GTX
960] (rev a1)
I used to install the nvidia drivers, after each kernel upgrade. I did
that, as usual using:
> ./NVIDIA-Linux-x86_64-410.73.run

Where should I look to have more information about what's wrong with my
system ?
Which component should I report on BZ ?
What additional info would be helpful for knowledgeable developers ?

Thanks for your help

Re: Orphaning several packages.

2018-10-17 Thread Alain Vigne
I can not say I volunteer for ALL of Kiara's packages, but I can start with
some:

   1. gerbv
   2. netgen
   3. toped
   4. gds2pov

This is part of FEL (Fedora Electronic Spin) "revival".
Who else is interested?

Re: orphaning LabPlot

2018-09-23 Thread Alain Vigne
Hello Mukundan
You don't have time anymore for Labplot ? Other problems with the package ?

I would be keen on taking this over, but I am still waiting for a sponsor,
as I am not part (yet ?) of the packager group...

May be I co-maintain it ?

My FAS username is avigne , my COPR:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/avigne/
Please, advise.
Best regards
Alain

Self introduction: Alain Vigne

2018-09-03 Thread Alain Vigne
 Hi everyone,
I am Alain, a French EE engineer using Fedora 28 and EDA open source tools,
for a long time now.

I am part of the pcb-rnd developer upstream
http://repo.hu/projects/pcb-rnd/
and was able to produce a .spec file + SRPM rpm file + COPR successful
builds:
https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/avigne/pcb-rnd/

Now, I am looking for a sponsor to officially get this package into Fedora.
I filled this BZ bug:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1581240

I volunteer to be the package maintainer, I have read the guidelines and
acknowledge responsibilities requested for such a task.
My FAS username is: avigne

This package could also be part of FEL (Fedora Electronic Lab) spin, to be
revived ? I am open to discussions about packaging latest versions of
EE/CAD open source tools.

Hoping for some positive feed-back...
Best regards

Thank you Robert-André.
