Re: [freenet-dev] 99designs contest is up
Thanks for sharing the designs. #1 webDAE: Someone hurt the big rabbit on the right. Poor thing, having its leg clipped. Color scheme looks solid, although it could use a bit more contrast. I'm not at all convinced by the giant curve on the home page. It could work, but this is too much of a good thing. The "what Freenet stands for" section feels a bit uninviting and text-heavy. The get started page just feels empty, almost like 1996 webdesign with CSS applied. #4 Design Injector: This feels like our current design with a facelift applied. Several elements are reused — so far "don't use it for inspiration". That said, I like the facelift in general. This looks modern, I like the footer. The use of an additional red as a signal color is a good find. The header menu is copypasta and serves no purpose other than to clutter the page IMHO. "Our clients say" is pretty much irrelevant to our business. #3 Esmili: I like the simplicity of the header menu. Download button stands out well. Other than that, there's not much positive to say about this design. It's cold, cluttered and uninviting. Thanks, I've passed along this feedback to the designers. How important is a language dropdown when most web browsers automatically report the user's language to the web server anyway? Re: [freenet-dev] 99designs contest is up
Those first two (webDAE and design injector) are quite nice, I really like some aspects of both of them. The WD design is very light and open, especially the header which is a great use of inverted colors and shading, and the curves give it a little distinctiveness too. The language dropdown is a big plus on the DI design, as is the “sandwich” layout preventing it from being too dark despite use of the inverted color graph background. Very nice footer on that one as well. > On Aug 13, 2016, at 2:14 PM, Ian Clarke wrote: > > Ah, didn't realize that - ok. > I've created a poll with the three current designs - it's really too early but > just to give people a sense of what we're getting so-far: > https://99designs.com/contests/poll/o7wc3s?urlcategory=web-design > Ian. > > > > > > On Sat, Aug 13, 2016 1:10 PM, Dan Roberts ademan...@gmail.com wrote: > Are you calling for feedback from the community right now?
