Patrick, Thanks for taking the time to send the MFSK picture docs. I happened to have your program running with Mixw and was surprised when the picture window popped open! Didn't know Multipsk had that feature. Re: [digitalradio] MFSK16 Pictures - Multipsk / DM780 / Fldigi
Hello Tony, With Multipsk, you can RX/TX "MFSK16" pictures (which are SSTV pictures in fact (and not digital pictures), they are simply compatible with the MFSK16 bandwidth). But dimensions of the picture are free. Here is shown how to use this mode: http://f6cte.free.fr/SSTV_IN_MFSK16_EASY_WITH_MULTIPSK.doc 73 Patrick - Original Message - From: Tony To: digitalradio@yahoogroups.com Sent: Saturday, May 09, 2009 12:44 AM Subject: [digitalradio] MFSK16 Pictures - Multipsk / DM780 / Fldigi All, I've been using Mixw to send / receive MFSK16 pictures for some time now and recently found that Multipsk, DM780 and Fldigi are capable of receiving pics. Re: [digitalradio] Re: Fldigi RSID
Rick, Multipsk has the RSID button up front while Fldigi requires two steps to turn it off. Not bad once you've done it a few times. A CQ/RSID macro should work well. There would be no need to turn it on or off then. [digitalradio] Special Event Station W8H - Dayton Hamvention
Good day to everyone! Many already know, but I wanted to announce to the group that the Feld Hell Club is sponsoring a Special Event Station during the Dayton Hamvention this year. W8H will be on the air using Feld Hell, from 1030 UTC Friday May 15th through 1800 Sunday May 17th. There is a Feld Hell Club Sprint (contest) on Saturday the 16th. Everyone is encouraged to participate! Please see the following web sites for information: www.feldhellclub-W8H.webs.com -> listing info on W8H www.feldhellclub.org -> general FH info & contest rules, etc. We will be operational on 30 meters during May 15 - 17th, so if you have not worked Hellschreiber before or very often, now is your chance to have some fun with it. Also, I am 30MDG #252, so those of you who work me will have another mode completed for the 30 Meter Digital Group awards! You can see where we are operating (80 - 15 meters) using the spotting web site: www.hamspots.net under the toggle for hellschreiber. If you are going to Dayton, please drop by station W8H which is located in the center of row #5 in the east flea-market. Sign the guest list and operate Special Event Station W8H if you'd like! Hope to see many of you there! Good DX and blue skies! Lou, W8LEW
[digitalradio] Re: Fldigi RSID
That's a good idea, Rick. I would like to see that as well. Split the RSID button up at the top of fldigi into two buttons: TX RSID and RX RSID. It would be nice to have an enable button for Video ID up there as well. I use Video ID of mode for CQ a lot. Typically I leave TX RSID turned on but leave the configuration window open to the ID tab so that I can turn off Video ID when someone answers my CQ. [digitalradio] Airmail
OK, got a question here - and hopefully someone can point me in the right direction. I am using the AGW Packet Engine and Winpack for me packet radio operation - that is all working great. Now, I would like to add airmail into the mix - I have been told time and time again that you cannot use airmail with AGW, that you have to have an actual TNC - BUT I found the info on how to do that online about 2 years ago, and it worked great, unfortunately stupid me, I didn't save them or they got deleted, anyway they are gone, and I really would like to get that working here on my laptop. So if any of you have any idea how to do it, would you please let me know, or point to me where I can figure it out? I don't have much time online to search for stuff like that right now or I would sit down and start searching again. Thanks for any help, and if you need any more info, please let me know. Re: [digitalradio] Re: Fldigi RSID
Is it possible that one of the needed features to use RSID would be that it could be easily turned on and off for transmitting as it is for receiving? Otherwise you have to go in to several layers of menus to turn it off once you make the contact. If it stays on, it takes time at the beginning of each transmission to send the RSID data burst and I doubt that many would want that overhead. 73, Rick, KV9U aa777888athotmaildotcom wrote: > Yes but nobody ever runs RSID TX ID (except me :-) > > I've spent hours with fldigi RSID receive mode turned on just to watch it > work once (and in entire pass band mode). Re: [digitalradio] Re: Fldigi RSID
It is used less than I thought it would be but when added to MixW and DM780 it should be more common. Both Nick and Simon have expressed interest in the issue. I hear RSID away from the PSK common frequencies. [digitalradio] Multimode Madness Hours May 10th 1300-1400 and 2100-2200 UTC
Please Note: The second hour has been changed to 2100 UTC by request. There is now a limit of FOUR contacts with same station (different modes) Please submit your scores (see link below) Date and time : 1300 to 1400 UTC and 2100-2200 UTC, Each UTC Sunday Modes: Any digital modes EXCEPT standard RTTY , PSK31, QPSK31 , and CW. See below for full details. Exchange : Callsign and RST Bands : Any authorized digital portions of 80, 40. 20, 15, or 10 are allowed . To foster more interaction, 14077 to 14080 and 7036-7038 are encouraged if allowed in your country. Please avoid traditional PSK31, and ALE sounding frequencies. Power : 100 watts and under . Suggested CQ : "CQ MMH" or "CQ Multimode Madness Hour" Points: 5 points per QSO Multipliers: Modes worked. Scoring: Total QSO x modes worked e.g 10 QSO = 50 points x six different modes successfully worked = 300 points You may work each station once PER mode for a maximum of four contacts with the same station Other : Use of RS-ID is encouraged but not required (RSID is available within FLDIGI and Multipsk. It may get added to DM780 and Mixw in the near future) Submit Scores to http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=rtgm8kXVo0EppUcJjpTyFKw * Modes with varying speeds, or number of tones, DO count as different modes but "reverse" settings DO NOT. Example, Olivia 500/16 and 500/8 would count as two different modes but reverse/inverse MFSK16 or Olivia would not count.

Yes but nobody ever runs RSID TX ID (except me :-) I've spent hours with fldigi RSID receive mode turned on just to watch it work once (and in entire pass band mode). It's never once made a detection and I've never seen an RSID burst on the waterfall myself. All, The RSID feature in Fldigi seems to work very well. It can be setup to search the entire pass band for incoming RSID's. Just remember to click the RSID button in the upper right-hand corner to activate it. The green light means it's armed and ready for RSID reception. Fldigi will automatically switch to the mode that corresponds to the RSID being sent. For example: if the Tx station transmits CQ in MFSK32 mode with RSID, your software will automatically change to that mode providing you have the RSID activated and ready. Very useful during Mode Madness Hour! Both Multipsk and Fldigi have this feature. Tony -K2MO
