 You'll remember the above thread. I've now downloaded the latest HRD
 (Version 4 SP4 build 1901 Jul 10 2008), and tried various combinations
 of disable script debugging and display notification as above, but the
 problem is still there.

To be honest, no - I will look into this tomorrow as I have a feeling I can
stop it inside the HRD code but it's something you've got on your system
which causes this :-(

Hmmm. I suspect you may be right. I have just installed HRD on another
PC, with (ostensibly) the same configuration, and it runs without any
problem. The only difference between the two PCs that may be relevant is
that one (where the IE script error message appears) has Spybot Teatimer
running, whereas the other does not. However, when I killed Teatimer,
there was no difference.

I then killed all the remaining processes that I could without crippling
the machine completely, but the IE script error messages kept coming.

I think I stopped it with the IE browsers inside DM780. I assume it's HRD
causing the problem, not DM780?

Yes, it occurs in the DX Cluster window in HRD. Sometimes the script
error messages pop up spontaneously without any action on my part, at
other times they appear when I click on a callsign to get the QRZ entry.
I have never used DM780.

My IE is 7.0.5730.11. I even tried running it at the same time as HRD (I
normally don't run it at all), but still the IE script error messages
kept coming.

Hope this helps.

Running Win XP Home + SP2 + all subsequent updates. Just installed HRD
4.0 Build SP1 1848.

When looking at a page of DX Cluster spots, the following message pops
up all by itself:

~~
Internet Explorer Script Error.

An error has occurred in the script on this page.
Line: 201
Char: 1
Error: Object expected
Code: 0
URL: http://www.qrz.com/detail/callsign
~~~
The callsign in the URL is the first callsign in the DX Cluster list.
I say Yes to Do you want to continue running scripts on this page?.
The popup disappears, but reappears a few seconds later, with the next
callsign listed on the DX Cluster page. And so on, ad infinitum.
Same thing also happens if I say No to Do you want to continue
running scripts on this page?.
This makes HRD unusable.
If it makes any difference, my default browser is Opera (I only use IE
for XP updates).
Hi Ian,
HRD *always* uses the IE engine, even if you have Opera installed. I seem to
remember that in DM780 I managed to stop these popups - it's an IE setting
somewhere. In IE 7 look at the Help menu / About Internet Explorer for the
version info.
I'll have to Google for the answer - it is a Windows / IE setting somewhere.
 I have IE7 installed (I'm not sure which release, as I can't find the
 Help About button any place!).
 I followed your instructions above, and found the following already set
 (presumably by default, as I haven't changed anything):
 ~
 [x] Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
 [x] Disable script debugging (Other)
 [  ] Display a notification about every script error
 ~
 Now what do I do? I repeat, I run Opera with HRD, not IE.
Ian,
You must disable the script debugging in Internet Explorer on your computer,
this is why the messages occur.
Simon,
As I explained in this thread recently, I have already done this. My IE
settings are:
~
[x] Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
[x] Disable script debugging (Other)
[  ] Display a notification about every script error
~
These seem to be interpreted in the opposite sense -- script debugging
is *not* disabled and notifications of script errors *are* displayed.
Sorry Ian,
I read hundreds of mails each day, I forgot you had told me this.
The title of the error tells everything: Internet Explorer Script Error.
The solution is to stop IE displaying script errors, using Google and
searching for Disable Internet Explorer Script Error I get many hits. I
know I can do something with the software, I wonder what version of IE you
are using?
The problem you have is stopping IE displaying the script error popups. I'll
look at the coding this evening.
Ian - in the latest kit you have you can now use a DX Cluster such as
Ah,
Yes - sorry, you get the popup when talking with QRZ.com. IE is not
Microsoft's finest piece of code, I will be looking at the code over the
weekend as I think I can disable these popups myself.
FWIW I use the IE engine.
