Yes, true, heatmaps are a good way to see where the user has clicked. An open source alternative is ClickHeat (albeit a bit fuddly ...) I'm starting to work with Omniture's form analysis tools. Haven't had enough experience to say how well it works, but Omniture in general is a great package so I expect this feature will be too. Brian Heumann Hmm, sounds like secretly submitting the form without the users's consent ... Technically you could easily add Javascript to the unload event of the page to send the required data. And hope the users don't find out. No, definitely not. The client merely wants to have some way of measuring what the users are doing - not to secretly grab data or anything like that. They'd be pretty horrified if anyone thought that they were trying to do something underhand. It's a highly reputable non-profit. And hope the users don't find out. Because of the privacy issues I would rather recommend A/B or multivariant testing with Goolge Website Optimizer and/or Goolge Analytics.
