Where is the avantage to have your music in the cloud and to access it thru the SC? You still need the SC PC. [slim] livedrive etc
Hello Not sure if I'm posting to the correct forum but I'll push on clumsily I was thinking of purchasing a livedrive account (www.livedrive.com) for storage of my data (including music) in the "cloud" as opposed to locally. I have three questions: 1) After installing the livedrive software, your storage appears as a local drive on your pc (Windows only for now I think) so could I use this with Squeezecentre by setting the music folder on my livedrive "drive" as my Squeezecentre library? 2) If (1) is true then surely I can store my music in flac format and still stream it from the cloud (unlike mp3tunes which does not support flac). Assuming my internet connection is fast enough, of course. 3) Have Logitech considered synching livedrive with Squeezenetwork? [slim] Contribute your squeezecenter server to world peace
For those with a 24/7 squeezecenter server, how about doing double duty and using it also for some distributed computing task as well, like looking for beings from another world, finding a cure for cancer or otherwise helping humanity. Here is lists of projects: http://distributedcomputing.info/projects.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_distributed_computing_projects If you know of any other projects, let us know. Suggestion: maybe start a group called "squeezecenter" so that all of these contributions can be lumped together statistically. -- mortslim mortslim's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11039 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63681 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Running SC on $100 Linux Wall Wart
I just cant wait for SC to run on a platform like this, low power = always on and available :-) then I can give the boot to the old laptop where SC currently resides and forget all about struggeling with WOL and other strange things. Re: [slim] Forward/Rewind buttons not working
Hi there is it any bug open for this request ? so one can vote. I've spent 45 minutes searching bugzilla without finding anything so at least I tried. FF/RW on aac mp4a or mp4b would be very nice, and also support for bookmarks in mp4b (audio books). I'm not normally that picky about this kind of thing, but I got some audio books from a friend ( yes an actual physical friend, not 20 "friends" on tpb ;-) ) One of the books is 11 hours long so seeking in it ff/rw and placing bookmarks would be nice. Meanwhile I have to transcode to something else to be practical. reading up on this would require some work/patch on faad2 itself so what gives ? -- Mnyb Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=50308 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

[slim] WOL in the latest FW versions SB3 and Boom
Something has been changed to the worse in this respect without any valid reasons at all. I connected my new boom fw 45 via ethernet and fixed ip to my SC it is working really well. except for the fact that WOL does not work. OK i thought then i just edit the settings as in the SB3... But there is no setting for SC MAC address in the boom ? Then i checked out my SB3 now on FW 125 and to my astonishment the possibility to change the SC MAC has been removed, and can no longer be seen or edited ? which is appropriate bug I can vote on, there's a bunch of them regarding wol I don't think I have to create a new one. -- Mnyb Mnyb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4143 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63664 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
