[slim] Controller: Sort order in Artist category differs from sort order in Albums category
When browsing Albums, I get the desired sort order Artist, Year, Album. However, when browsing Artists, the selected Artist's albums are not sorted by year. I have set the Controller setting Settings->Advanced->Album sort order correctly, however this setting does not seem to affect how the albums are sorted when browsing artists. I believe this might be a bug in the latest 7.3 and 7.4, because I recall that this was done correctly in some older release. When the album sort order is set to sort by Artist, Year, Album then Artists' albums should also be sorted by Year, Album when browsing Artists. This seems to be broken unless there is a "Artist sort order" settings in the SBC that I have overlooked... My ignorance or a bug? [slim] Rhapsody and Pandora periodically unvailable
I have a transporter, boom and squeezebox. Periodically for no reason that I can tell, I will periodically get the message with Rhapsody that "this player does not support Rhapsody. A Squeezebox2or higher is required". At the same time if I try and use Pandora I will get a message "You must be a subscriber to use Pandora from this device." I will get the message on all player. Nothing I do seems to make a difference, but over times hours to days the messages will go away and I can use both services. It always happens with both services at the same time. Re: [slim] Unable to play media from subscription service due to inability to authenticate
I'm having the same issue with authenticating to the service. The demo does indeed play on the Squeezebox by using the following URL: http://demo:d...@live.str3am.com:2530/demo However, using my actual login credentials in the format below results in a "HTTP/1.1 401 Unauthorized" message" on the Squeezebox: http://username:passw...@live.str3am.com:2530/secure The username has an '@' in the middle of it. The '@' in the middle of the username (u...@domain.net) may mess with the correct syntax for HTTP authentication. I did try to substitute a '%40' for the "@' (escape code for @), thinking this may remedy this issue, but the result was another error message '401 Authentication Required". Re: [slim] Feature request: Polarity control
Apologies for the vagueness, maybe I am misunderstanding the thread, it was the only one I could find that seemed to be addressing my problem. My issue is that when connecting my SB3 to my DAC via co-axial digital the stereo channels are reversed, therefore the soundstage is the wrong way around, and I don't know how to correct them. Could it be an issue with the DAC? Thanks. -- chevvies chevvies's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9152 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=19961 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

For this reason all the time i did prefer to browse through folders. This will be implement in next version somehow. Anyways in one of the upcoming versions there seems to be a mistake in the search function. This must be new implement. I hope to reach Sebastian in the next days to discuss some implementation he have done. Maybee it is a good idea to tell in the forum how much music files the people have arround. Maybee it is better for a large amound of files not let to cache the covers. -- arztde arztde's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29528 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=64537 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Rebuffering is ruining the Squeezebox experience
Also note that plenty of things interfere with WiFi signals, such as microwaves ovens, and cell phones. Depending on your router, they may have conflicting (or closely conflicting) signals. I used to work in an office where the local "Subway" sandwich shop would kill our WiFi for 10 seconds or so as their turbo microwave would kick in. We were on the 2nd floor of the building, and they were on the 1st. It took us months to figure this out... Re: [slim] Rebuffering is ruining the Squeezebox experience
My experience of the SB3 is that rebuffering over wi-fi appears to be a stragely random act. One day the system will be working fine, the next I'll have issues, especially on radio, and even on FLAC files played from my HDD. Therefore, I do not believe 100% that it's an SB3 issue, but something to do with interference from elsewhere, which is not regular, but intermittent. Programmes like Netstumbler tell you which router channel you and your neighbours are on, but it doesn't show the level of interference from non-wi-fi sources such as cordless phones or microwave ovens. FYI inSSIDer has a companion, but chargeable app that shows you the level of interference in your environment that is not down to your router. In my own case, I installed Solwise 85mbps homeplug Ethernet adapters. On my ring main I get on average 68-72mbps speeds. The SB3 runs perfectly when wired (famous last words). I would prefer wi-fi, but there just seem to be too many variables to ensure perfect operation. My environment is not all within my control though, which is why I am reluctant to just blame the wireless SB3 and its ever changing s/w. On a different note, what is the need for daily changes to the SC os? Even I know enough about s/w to recognise that constant change almost guarantees instability for the user. -- Squeezemeister Squeezemeister's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=31430 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=65719 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
