I can verify the MOG does work on SB at the 4.99 rate, as I have it
loaded on my SB Transporter. Sound quality is much better than Pandora,
as is the ease of use and getting only the music I want.

I haven't used Rhapsody but both services advertise 14M tracks.

What you have done sounds correctly, but maybe you could try to open a
command prompt and run the bat file from the command prompt so you can
see what it says ?
At the moment it sounds like just closes the window so you have no idea
what the error is.

If I remember correctly, the iTunes_Hist.txt file is renamed at the end
of the execution so the next time you run the script it will be a new
file which only contains the changes since last time the script was
run.

Seriously, that's probably the best way to get mgmt to agree on another

I got my wife ( I can't bring myself to call her Mrs Gruntwolla!)an
ipad for Christmas. Although it wasn't purchased for Squeezebox use, I
did slyly install Squeezepad! To my surprise, my wife has just taken to
it. I can't really explain why - maybe she finds the extra space on the
screen more friendly, or maybe just because it's hers, but she suddenly
gets the whole squeezebox thing. A happy experience.

Re: [slim] Need help to setup Trackstat with itunes

2012-02-24 Thread Finchy

OK, so I have copied the iTunesUpdate.pl file from the LMS cache folder
onto my laptop into the iTunes folder, and copied the iTunes_Hist.txt
file from the playlists folder there as well.

I have created a .bat file with the following;

C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe "C:\Users\Matthew\My Music\iTunes\iTunesUpdate.pl"
iTunes_Hist.txt

(C:\Music\iTunes\ being the path of the Windows data files and
C:\Perl\bin\perl.exe being the path of the perl installation, but it's
not updating. I get the CMD window pop up but quickly close. What am I
doing wrong? Have I got the right idea and just using the wrong script?

Presumably the iTunesUpdate.pl won't change, so what I'd like to do is
be able to set up a script on the laptop to point to the
iTunes_Hist.txt on the LMS but update on the laptop, and set it to
schedule so it runs periodically.

Should the iTunes_Hist.txt be purged when it does update?

'Smoke and mirrors' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smoke_and_mirrors): a
metaphor for a deceptive, fraudulent or insubstantial explanation or

'Cloak and dagger' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cloak_and_dagger): a

Well you should not notice; that is the idea.

If MySB is moved from a server to the cloud or another service provider
you should not see this... maybe a short glitch when the actual switch

Otherwise the mechanisms of the internet should hide it from you.

Re: [slim] HD track won't play via SB3

2012-02-24 Thread Bryan Jan

thanks Eric,

My DAC is alright with the 88.2/176.4 as I have no problem when I play
the same file by the Touch, only the SB3 has the problem using the same
LMS.

Since I already have the 24/176.4 file, the question is how do I play
it via the SB3 without converting it to 24/86 or 24/48 physically.
