Re: [slim] Western Digital My Cloud
Thanks for your reply. I have a few questions. Hope you don't mind 1. Do you run LMS on the My Cloud drive or on your computer? I understand you can do either? 2. How do you backup your music database on the My Cloud drive? I currently have 3 x USB2 WD My Book drives which I use for backing up. I have the SyncBackSE app on my PC which only backs up changes I have made to the music database, ie new albums added. It does not back up items that are unchanged. 3. Was it quite easy to setup? 4. Is ripping CDs and changing tagging still a simple process? I use EAC for ripping CDs and Tag&Rename for making amendments to my FLAC files. 5. Good news that it will play FLAC files on your phone, but a shame it can't see them as albums. Re: [slim] What functionality will I lose when mysb.com is eventually turned off?
Good summary. I'd also add Michael Hergers truely excellent Music and Album Information plugin requires 7.8 for a lot of its functionality. For me at least this was almost enough to make the upgrade worthwhile. Re: [slim] Western Digital My Cloud
1. Yes, can do either or both, some run multiple instances of LMS on several different platforms. Running LMS on two different computers can be a good troubleshooting tool (if/when needed). 4. EAC is fine. toby10's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=12553 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=100648 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I believe this was due to one of the later firmware releases. Please don't use this to diagnose network faults as at high rates the test is limited by the player's ability to receive updates. Re: [slim] Western Digital My Cloud
I decided to get a WD My Cloud NAS drive today. I've got it connected to my network. I'm planning to continue running LMS on my PC and just have the music database on the My Cloud drive. How do I configure LMS to see the My Cloyd NAS? When I go into My Computer, the NAS appears as drive Y. But when I go into LMS Server Settings and try and browse the folders LMS does not see drive Y. Any ideas? Re: [slim] Western Digital My Cloud
You may need to make that "Y" a -permanent- drive letter mapping. How you do so depends on which OS you are using: http://www.it.cornell.edu/services/guides/computer/howto/map_win7.cfm Or, it could be as easy as restarting LMS. I think I'd make the map permanent anyway assuming it's not. If I use the prompt option then select a track i get the long list of options. If i then select "album" I see the list of album tracks again. If I now select my track again I see the 4 option list which I prefer. I would be surprised if that was the intended functionality. OK so I've tried this myself. I set Orange Squeeze to play as the default action. In the LMS Web interface I've set the defeat destructive play option to always (settings > player) And as expected when tapping a track I get the 4 options as shown [image: http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/12/31/e3ymypeq.jpg] I have noticed the play all tracks option doesn't do anything but the options do appear as I thought they would above. I've got no idea why yours isn't working the same, how old is your version of 7.8? I'm not sure when the destructive play options were added to 7.8 but it might be worth upgrading to the latest nightly. Well to my mind that narrows it down to an issue on the nexus. Just a thought but have you tried clearing the apps data and/or uninstalling the app on the Nexus. Maybe also try the preview version if you haven't already. Re: [slim] MonkeySqueeze
tordenfod wrote: > And new years comming up .. :-( > > Can anyone point me to the error.. im going blind ] G'day tordenfod Presumably Squeezebox is not playing the same tracks in MediaMonkey even though you have enabled MonkeySqueeze and it says it is sychronising. 90% of these errors are to do with addressing problems. The addressing for LMS looks OK so here are my recommendations: 1. Remove the back slash from the MM Music Folder address on the MM MonkeySqueeze options page e.g. u:\music 2. Check the addressing of the Music library in MM. 3. You may have to use network addressing for the MM music library instead of the mapped address 4. The LMS port number 9002 maybe conflicking with another program. try using 9003, 4 etc.. Let me know how you get on. Gingernut63 P.S. MediaMonkey's music library is at U:\ , which includes the subfolders. Music is the name of the drive, there is not a folder called Music hence the address on the options page should be U:\ . Read the following which one happens to you? To test the communications play some music on your main Squeezebox device. In MediaMonkey load/place different music in the Now Playing/Playlist window, select play and then enable MonkeySqueeze. 1. The music playing on the SB device will stop and be replaced by the music in MediaMonkey :). 2.
