Besides wifi, I am interested in the built-in short range BT capability. Do you know if there are projects out there that use a mobile phone (with BT) as user identification mean, and then say, open the local wifi AP, or sync some user directory or preferences local to the Pi? In short, something where BT would be used for profiling the systems behaviour. 4 SB 3 Libratone Zipp Mini iPeng (iPhone + iPad) Squeezebox Server 7.9 (linux) with plugins: CD Player, WaveInput, Triode's BBC iPlayer by bpa IRBlaster by Gwendesign (Felix) Server Power Control by Gordon Harris Smart Mix, Music Walk With Me, What Was That Tune? by Michael Herger PowerSave by Jason Holtzapple Song Info, Song Lyrics by Erland Isaksson AirPlay Bridge by philippe_44 WeatherTime by Martin Rehfeld Auto Dim Display, SaverSwitcher, ContextMenu by Peter Watkins. epoch1970's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=16711 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105282 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You can attach a external aerial but you have to solder on an SMT U.fl connector (They're really really small !) to do this really. The cost of the Pi3 is maybe the only reason to get it, I got mine for the same price as a Pi2 otherwise I wouldn't have bothered TBH Jeff *Players:* SliMP3,Squeezebox3 x3,Receiver,SqueezePlayer,PiCorePlayer x3,Wandboard *Server:* LMS Version: 7.9.0 - 1453293926 on Centos 7 VM on ESXi 6 on HP N54L *Plugins:* AutoRescan/BBCiPlayer/PowerSave/PowerSwitchIII/Squeezecloud *Remotes:* iPeng8/Orangesqueeze/PC/Jivelite *Music:* 383GB,1269 albums 17756 songs 4381 artists mostly FLACs *Want a webapp ?* See http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?104305-Webapp-for-LMS Jeff07971's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=49290 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=105282 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] raspberry pi 3b
After my RPi3 is delivered i am pretty sure, its too oversized for a simple Player. Cause the WIFI Antenna is now on the Board and not sticking outside on a USB "nice" Cases out of Aluminium arent the best choice if the router is far away. In fact same case same place rpi2 no prob, rpi 3 no connection (in the case) TbH: Its much oversized as a simple Audio player i dont think there is a market for this right now. As a Server it might be a better starting point as the Rpi2. Please dont missunderstood me, but using a oversized Rpi with an undersized PSU keeping in mind of "runs good if it never will be stressed out "seems a bit strange to me. A copyjob and a apt-get upgrade at the same time and hopefully the system if working again after that - is that kind of russian rulette that most of the typical "users" never wanna try or solve this without shouting agains rpi, lms, squeezelite. These are two different things - I am for example using squeezelite 1) on a Mac / OS X 2) on a pi using Rasplex (http://www.rasplex.com/) 3) sometimes (and hopefully more soon) on a PiCorePlayer PiCorePlayer topics help me on the Mac / OS X and on Rasplex, but for PiCorePlayer, more specific approaches are required (configuration via web interface). If two are used, I can easily scan both, or just one if I am only interested in PiCorePlayer. Cheers, Rainer > > > > LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Re: [slim] Windows Users: Run a full library scan following time changes
It looks like a New & Changed scan did NOT see any music files as changed following the time change. But, it did see all of the covers as having changed and resized and re-cached all of them. Hmm... did I investigate this before? I'll check again. Thanks! -- Michael ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Some clarification needed: If you mean e.g. starting all Squeezelite posts with [squeezelite] and as part of the topic of the question, I think it is a really good idea. (e.g "[squeezelite] not starting on ..."). If you mean, all question in one thread: I don't like that idea at all as these huge threads are *horrible* when you search the answer for a specific question. Huge threads duplicate questions as it is often nearly impossible to find the answer. Cheers, Rainer > > > > LMS 7.7.5 - 5xRadio, 3xBoom, 4xDuet, 1xTouch, 1 SB2. Or Max2Play and others. I would rather suggest a 3party plugin Header.
