Enough to remind me to try to do better. Thanks. For whatever reason,
8.1.1 installed without issue tonight, and for the first time I have
Spotify available. Nice. Question for Michael, if he's still watching
this thread: the Band Campout plug in - does my password go into the
second line of settings, the one marked identity cookie? Nothing I do
gets the plugin working...

Mismatched exe and kernel is a very common sort of problem - happens on
Linux and Windows systems. When installing an application required for
transcoding, it is a good idea to do a sanity check not only to see exe
run but also to check version and build options.

64bit on 32 bit PC won't work but quite often a 32bit exe or even a
64kbit exe won't work on a 64 bit kernel because of missing
libraries/DLLs.

Many Windows exe's can fail if they don't have a full install package
which does checking and install compatibility libraries (due to
different version of compiler). A quick look at the WinSxS directory
will show how many compatibility libraries have been installed.

Just received my Rpi4 (8Gb).

It's replacing a Rpi3 and I have to say that even if I can't really
explain it, the sound quality is a lot better. [emoji7]

Better details, bass and it's a lot more transparent. Really happy

Re: [slim] Logitech is done making Harmony remotes

2021-04-19 Thread RonM

I'd been meaning to get a Harmony remote for some time, especially as
the power button on the remote for my older Sony Receiver has been
giving out and would cost a fair bit to get a dedicated replacement. So
was pissed-off when I found they were discontinuing.

I did a search locally (Toronto area), and found that some branches of
The Source electronic stores (which bought the legacy Radio Shack
business in Canada) were listing "limited availability" of the remotes
tried several, no dice, but finally found a single 665 at a store 45
minutes away. Nice country drive for COVID lockdown time.

I see that refurbished units are selling at steep prices online,
sometimes upwards of $150; this one is still list at C$60.

from a command prompt and it prodices a banner.
What version of lame is shown in the banner ?

I've gone through my Playlists and corrected any oddities.

I also searched within files in the prefs directory for D:/Music/ and
replaced with D:/MyMusic/ (269 instances).
I deleted the cache.

Once scanning had finished I found I'd lost most of the my plugins.
Adding them back caused a few oddities but things seem to be back to
normal now and stuff works and the log file is cleaner. So thanks for
that.

I am still left with the original issue. Here's the log with the

That can be disabled by you. Although if a lot of people did it then
Logitech may well decide that there is no longer a justification for
keeping mysqueezebox.com running and so all of the services that still
rely on it would stop working for everyone else.

Pretty fond of the Hub I got running for controlling TV, set-top box and
Dune media player. I am somewhat annoyed though about the fact that it
requires internet access to allow LAN access through the phone app and
home automation services. Never really understood why LMS requires me to
connect to a Logitech account as well and here is all the political fuzz
about Huawei and Xiaomi allegedly spying on whatever users of their
hardware do.

So did anyone ever research what it sends and expects in return? Knowing
that would allow setting up a fake web server and not needing to worry
that it may be taken down at some point (like Zappiti did with their
Dune indexing app).

Post the log of player.source set to INFO for the problem to see what is
causing the issue now.

Since there is still the "old" problem and there is also a second
problem. I'd guess there could be remnant of the double install
somewhere in some file. For example something in new install found files
from old install and saved it in its prefs but these prefs have not been
updated since deleting directories.

With LMS stopped, scan the contents of the prefs files (all text) for
all occurances of "Music" (case insensitive search)

With LMS stopped, I'd also delete the contents of the Cache directory
just to be safe.

Re: [slim] Bug with MP3 player bitrate limiting... maybe?

2021-04-19 Thread ModelCitizen

Hello.

Following your instructions BPA my two installations are now one...
under the correct directory, server.
I still get the same issue with file not found when I attempt player bit
rate limiting... but I also have another problem which I'm not sure is
related but in an attempt not to flood the forum with my problem posts
I'll mention it here.

Extra info: In a recent successful attempt to set up library views I
changed the name of the directory my main music library is held in.

it was D:\Music
It is now
D:\MyMusic

I have rescanned from scratch (twice) but my log file is stuffed with
lines like this... all pertaining to either the first album (by A-Z) in
my main library or the first track in that album. I'm assuming there
just be some other entry someone where in LMS that still refers to the
old directory path (and it is not in my playlists as this album is not
included in any). You'll know this I'm sure but the 'open (91) Warning'
error line is when I tried to play a track.

Again, any help very appreciated (and I am all too aware that this is
all a bit one-way).

In Orange Squeeze you can select "Library Views" to change libraries.
Maybe you need to select that as an option in the "Additional Browse
