Thanks ralphy! I just inserted the line ralphy suggested in my Touch (stock firmware, with EDO applet): success. I can set Balance for that Touch in LMS/Settings/Player -> /audio. 1) ssh into the touch (remember the Code: ssh -oKexAlgorithms=+diffie-hellman-group1-sha1 root@touch ) optional) copy the original SlimProto.lua for safe-keeping, e.g. "cp /usr/share/jive/jive/net/SlimProto.lua /tmp/Slimproto.lua.ORIG" 2) edit the SlimProto.lua file: Code: vi /usr/share/jive/jive/net/SlimProto.lua 3) scroll down to line 370 and press "I" to edit 4) Code: obj:capability("Balance",1) 5) press to exit edit mode 6) press :wq to save and exit 7) check that the file has today's date: Code: ls /usr/share/jive/jive/net/SlimProto.lua -al 8) Code: reboot Be careful that you don't accidentally misspell the line to add, as I did :-) If there's an error in the SlimProto.lua it will not connect to the LMS server. The first try's when I changed the balance and pressed Apply, the volume control went to zero but after I restored, everything worked exactly as expected. Note that the extreme settings (-25, +25) will completely silence the other channel. I think it could be valuable option to have a balance setting also for the stock firmware Touch. 2 Touch, 2 Picoreplayer v6.1.0 on RaspBerry 3B LMS 8.0.1 on Ubuntu 20.04.1 on Intel Core2 Duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz, 2GB. mherger wrote: > It should be there now. Can you confirm it's working? I can confirm it works 100%. Right now I am listening to the second My Mix playlist tonight, without any problems. It is a bit funny that the Tidal plugin for Logitechmediaserver presents the "My Mixes" flawlessly while a comparable streaming solution (Bluesound) does not even though some are very angry about that on their forum. Bluesound says they have not received the necessary API-info from Tidal. They probably will present the "My Mixes" soon I guess, but I note with some satisfaction that the community supported Squeezebox echo system beat them to it :-) To be honest, Bluesounds solution is built upon closed source client applications and firmware for a great number of applicances, which will create some delay in delivering new stuff to their customers. The SW architecture for LMS with its plugin based modularity is far faster in comparison. Logitech stopped company supported development and maintenance of the Squeezebox eco-system many years ago. However, they have kindly kept the mysqueezebox.com servers running and allowed one employee (M Herger) to keep the LMS server software and mysqueezebox.com operational over the years. Re: [slim] Google Wifi Connecting to Logitech Media Server
d6jg wrote: > Is there client isolation on the Google WiFi device? Client isolation does not seem to be available on the Google wifi (I think it is rare for consumer grade wifi router to have it). IMO it is more likely an effect of having two routers active on the network. Depending on how the Google router is connected to the ISP's router it can be: - double NAT's (if the Google router's WAN-port is connected to a LAN-port on the ISP's router); this will stop LMS connections. - double DHCP servers causing confusion among connected devices, but that would probably cause visible error messages on connected PC's ... IMHO, the best way to use two wifi routers is to keep to the ISP router but disable the wifi only, and set the Google device as an AP (access point) only. That would disable any NAT'ing on the Google device and also disable trhe DHCP server there. 2 Touch, 1 Picoreplayer 4.1.0 on RaspBerry 3B with 7" display LMS latest nightly on Ubuntu 18.04.1 on Intel Core2 Duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz, 2GB All wired BosseJ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=110031 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Code: Re: Smart Hub DHCP reservations So, I've figured this out after 45 minustes of swearing for the new SmartHub 6 ... 1. StaticIP: You set this on your device, not router. 2. DHCP: You can configure the range of IPs available from Advanced Settings > My Network > IPv4 Configuration 3. DHCP Reservation: Reserving a specific IP for a specific MAC Address from the router (can be outside the DHCP range set at point 2) is done by following the steps below: a. Go to Advanced Settings > My Network > My Devices b. Select the device you wish to reserve the IP for c. Click on "Always use this IP" d. Now the IP box is editable, edit the IP and save (I recommend also giving a meaningfull name to the device if it doesn't have one)https://community.bt.com/t5/Home-setup-Wi-Fi-network/Smart-Hub-DHCP-reservations/m-p/1855486#M153179 e. Restart the device you've made the change for (alternatively, disconnect and reconnect) Worked for me today on about 5 devices, settings get saved even after I restart the router. 2 Touch, 1 Picoreplayer 4.0.0 on RaspBerry 3B with 7" display LMS latest nightly on Ubuntu 18.04.1 on Intel Core2 Duo E4500 @ 2.20GHz, 2GB All wired BosseJ's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=67378 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109713 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Also when i connect something to the AL89300 they are assigned > an IP address from the Huawei. > > I should probably take this to a Huawei forum Since you have two routers (both the Jensen and the Huawei), each with dhcp-servers and NAT between LAN and WAN, the configuration of these is not independent and not trivial, given the advanced functions on the especially the Huawei router. In general it is best to configure the router which is *not* directly connected to internet as bridge appliance (ie, as an Access Point/Switch) and avoid using the WAN port on that device. When you write "cable from Huawei is connected to LAN-port on the AL89300", do you mean an ethernet copper cable from a LAN-port on the Huawei to a LAN-port on the AL89300? That is the only thing that makes sense to me since the Huawei router has an optical fiber port as the WAN/internet access. I looked at the manuals for the devices and the Jensen seems pretty straightforward, but the Huawei have some odd settings on the LAN-ports and the dhcp server. You can define the LAN-ports individually as L3 or L2 where L3 means bridging to the WAN side. (Setting them as L2 makes the LAN ports work as a standard switch which makes most sense in this case.) The dhcp-server settings include a L2-relay setting which, if enabled, means that any device connected to that LAN-port gets the dhcp-request for IP relayed to the WAN side, ie the ISP's dhcp server of public IP-addresses. (This typical for some fiber-to-the-home media converters with multiple ethernet LAN ports available.) If you have the Huwei router connected to the internet (probably an incoming optical fiber) and use the dhcp-server on the Jensen AL89300, it is important that you disable the dhcp-server on the Huawei and ensure that all LAN-ports are L2. You also need to assign an IP-address to the LAN-port on the Huwaei which connects to the Jensen AL89300. Make sure that you have adapted the IP-range on the Jensen so that you have some IP-addresses to assign manually from. If this doesn't make any sense to you, please present a clear description of your network, describing incoming internet, which ports on the respective routers are connected to what and the settings of LAN-ports (L2/L3), dhcp server settings.
