Re: [slim] SB release 7.5.3: Unreliable. Anyone else?
I've had problems with my Transporter and SB3 running via the WHS version. I upgraded and from then on kept getting the message "Can't connect to server.Left to go back, right to try again." This message would appear for 30 seconds and then return to the normal display, then 30 seconds later the whole process starts again and again for 5 minutes. This would happen once or twice an hour. I've never had a single problem before, my signal strength for the Transporter is 90% plus and 95% plus for the SB3. Downgraded to 7.5.2 and the problem has gone away. -- Chewie Esoteric DV50/ Transporter/ Squeezebox SB3/ Duet/ Bryston BP25 Pre - 4BST Power Amplifier/ PMC OB1. Ive been using the 7.4 WHS version on my EX475 for 6-8 weeks now and I must say in that time it has come on in leaps and bounds and now offers everything a typical user could want in a WHS add in. Initially I was a bit uneasy using the nightly builds having had problems with the old Windows versions of them when I ran them on an XP machine but since the automatic download feature was activated, I have been regularly using the nightly builds on my WHS without any problems whatsoever. [slim] Consolidating two separate Music Directories
Over the years my music library has grown and grown first filling the remaining portion of one external 500GB usb2 drive and then over spilling and filling a second external 500GB usb2 drive. Both directories are identical in structure i.e. E or F:/FLACs/Interpol/Turn on the Bright Lights Both obviously have some directories for the same bands but contain different albums. I was seriously contemplating buying one in December but following some apprehension concerning its potential sound quality, I opted for the lower risk option of a SB3 instead. Well 4 month on Im convinced and kicking myself that I did not purchase the Transporter in December when a complimentary SB3 was included. Before I take the plunge, does anyone think there will be a Transporter II anytime soon? -- Chewie Chewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8747 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=33911 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

[slim] Slooooooow response from 6.5.1
Slooow response from 6.5.1 Could some kind soul please offer me some assistance, I’ve been having problems with 6.5.1 since yesterday. I upgraded to 6.5.1 the day it was posted on the forum with no major problems, it did kill all my playlists but I just deleted and re installed them and all was well again. But I returned home yesterday and 6.5.1 is behaving like a pig, it opens up ok from the taskbar and desktop but from then on it is ridiculously slow. If I click on artist, album, playlist etc it takes 20+ seconds to refresh. I am running XP Home SP2, IE 7, and MacAfee with my library on an external drive. As I have mentioned above, this problem only reared its ugly head yesterday, prior to that, refresh was almost instant. Thanks in advance to anyone kind enough to offer some assistance. -- Chewie Chewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8747 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=32086 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

I have just received a call from UPS customs clearance because it is being delivered tomorrow :-) The total cost with VAT and the UPS customs handling fee :-( is just over £216, thus its a little more expensive than Amazon but I paid extra for express deliver to guarantee I received it before Christmas. Without the express delivery and UPS customs handling fee of £11 it would have been cheaper. -- Chewie Chewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8747 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30336 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss

Now thats impressive service :-) -- Chewie Chewie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8747 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=30336 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss
[slim] Arrrrrrgh, The new SB3 Black
Arrgh, The new SB3 Black I ordered an SB3 from Amazon UK last Friday but they are on back order with an anticipated delivery 16-18th of December. Will I receive and old style SB3 or the new style black SB3? If its likely to be the old style, I will cancel it and consequently miss out on the SB3 for Christmas :-( Can anyone offer a definitive answer please?
