Oddly, after not having had this before (in years), and then reading this thread, I've just had it a few times today on my Boom. Also, several times it's gone silent at the end of a track mid-album; play/pause is still on play, but no sound, counter is at end of track. Trying other tracks gives odd inconsistent results, eventually it recovers by itself. Never seen any of that before. Odd. Presumably coincidence. cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109319 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Which Streaming Music Service works best for You and your system?
I use Deezer hifi (FLAC quality) via the Ickstream LMS plugin The plugin is fairly basic, but playback works perfectly, at least. It only shows the first 200 of your favourite albums, which is annoying, but it's easy enough to search the entire Deezer collection via the plugin, so it doesn't really matter. Can't compare to the others, since I've not tried them. cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=109230 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

There's a SqueezeCC plugin isn't there? I see the thread, although I've yet to try it. Given that, I would rather use my CCs that way, with server software with which I am familiar, rather than start again with e.g. Plex. All depends on how good the SqueezeCC hookup is. cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=106113 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Conclusions left to the > reader... :) I would really like to discount 24/96+ as pointless, indistinguishable from 16/44.1, except for one concern: the availability of "hi res" versions - however delivered, MQA or not - from better masters than the CD version, and with no way to get a 16/44.1 version of that master. But, as we've discussed elsewhere, without curation, there's no way to know what is what. Arse! The DR loudness database/site could have been a useful (similar) effort, but as most of its content is not detailed enough (e.g. only artist/title, no other details), it's not much use in identifying worthwhile masters. I would love to see - and contribute to - a wiki/database of available albums/tracks (with source info), which noted DR, and whether the mastering was noticeably better than CD. that could also include pointers to those tracks on the various streaming services. e.g "Deezer track 924493", etc. apols got getting a bit OT... cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=102648 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Community Funded Squeezebox Replacement - Would you be interested?
I must be particularly stupid... :) what *is* a "standard barrel connector" for 5V DC power? I have many differently sized barrels here (and lengths, too). And where would I get a (regular) wall-wart suitable for SBT? Are there known good/bad wall-wart models? [eBay is a dangerous place to buy wall-warts, if you worry about fire & safety] I also don't see why someone would re-use a working power supply from a working SBT. Wouldn't that obviously render the SBT inoperable? Or is that lots of people have broken SBTs with working power supplies? [I assume we're talking SBT; I know to my cost that not even all Squeezebox models use compatible barrel jacks] Erland, all: I'm really sorry to harp on, really not trolling, I just don't get it :( [PS - does anyone know the precise spec of the SBT barrel? I'm told that it's the inside diam that's relevant, so measuring the outside diam isn't necessarily the right answer (although it probably narrows it down enough?). Then those of us with dozens of spare USB supplies could wire up a connector] cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I was going to ask: is there any reason not to use micro USB as the power input? Even if people subsequently wanted to use a "better" supply, that could still easily be routed through a microUSB connector? Also, quite keen to do beta testing, if that's helpful. cdmackay's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=24816 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=97881 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I thought I asked this before, but can't seem to find it... Would you please consider possibly adding a volume control to the lockscreen plugin?
