[slim] Local ShoutCast stream suddenly kaput.
I run several old laptops with ShoutCast/Winamp comibinations for streaming music inside my home, across the local network. I put them into the "favorites" menu at mysqueezebox.com, and get the message that there's no connection there, but there wouldn't be...for them. The stream address looks something like (http) 192.168.1.10:8000 Across the local network, these streams have worked just fine to my Squeezebox, to an old Receiva box, to an even older Linksys box, to any iTunes machine, and even to my iPhone. After the last update to Server/Firmware, trying to connect with the Squeezebox to the local ShoutCast streams now gives a funny error message. (Something about "missing endpoint.") Or the connection simply times out. Any advice? Thanks in advance...it's probably just something I need to tweak. - Doug Boynton -- Doug Boynton ---- Doug Boynton's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=52390 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=92367 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] MP3tunes, Music Locker - outages!
There was a period of time last night where a server issue caused a subset of lockers to respond slowly. If a locker contains a lot of data, the request may have timed out. Sorry about that. Everything should be functioning normally now. If you are still having problems accessing your locker through a device, send me a PM with your login email address (not your password) and I'll check out your account. Re: [slim] Slimserver error in opening localhost connection
Thanks for the tips. I will try the additional switches tonight. I have a feeling some basic thing is hosed in my OS... I was having some funny problems under 2000 and the simple upgrade to XP didn't fix them, so I am now just about decided to wipe the disk and do a clean XP install and start over ... lot of trouble, but whats a mother to do lah? Bill Gates strikes again. ;) I am able to run winamp and connect to the desktop slimserver from the laptop without problem, and can also open the browser with // :9000 to the other box, so I don't think its a firewall or port issue. Anyway tonight will try the additional switches to learn what I can... and if I am ambitious I might just rebuild the whole laptop hard disk.
