OK I'll bite... The DMA2200 is a great device, but it only really
shines if you have a Vista Media Center HTPC solution in place - it's a
Media Center Extender first and foremost.

It also requires a TV connected and switched on so you can select
music. It's aimed at a _very_ different market to the Squeezebox, and
for me could never replace the flexibility, ease of use and quality of
my Squeezeboxen.

I'm all for putting pressure on SD to provide Napster support,
especially for non-US owners who don't have the same choice of
services, but the DMA2200 isn't a threat.

(I have to say though, at that price the DMA2200 is a great buy for
those looking for a Media Center Extender).

Saves a lot of hassle with a low spec Squeezebox that was consistently

Yeah, just what we need, ANOTHER upscaling DVD player with (wow!)
networking capabilities. You'd be better off to spend a few more $$$
and buy one of the many Blu-ray players out there that does everything
this Linksys toy does, plus you'd have 1080p Blu-ray, HD audio, gaming,
compatibility with multiple networking platform's (not stuck with MS),
etc...

I'll stay with my SlimDevice's products (which have no WiFi issues) and
keep my 400 watt TV turned off for music listening, thank you.:)

yep, Napster integration would be great. Pandora and Rhapsody don't work

It'll come in the end.

With Last.fm you can't listen to the track or album you choose. You
have to listen to -similar- tracks, which may or may not include the
one you've chosen.

Having said that, Last.fm are currently trialing their on-request
subscription service (it feels like it's been in beta for ages). This
may be much easier to integrate onto the SB than Napster and, depending
on the available library and quality, might be a better service.

Actually Napster is much better than Rhapsody as it has a much better

non-us.

It's completely different to last.fm - it's an 'all you can eat'

I want Napster so bad now, i have seriously considered jumping ship.

Yeah, my mistake. I never claimed to be an expert :)

It's allso difficult to find out information on Napster when their site
insists on re-directing me to the german site based on my IP, then
doesn't give me the option to change the language or location. gr

Napster's library is vast, and crossreferenced - it would make an

BTW. I really shouldn't worry. Logitech are currently going about
improving the syncing of the players, one of the two areas where the
Sonos product (far) outstrips the Logitech offering. I'm certain
they'll be looking hard at providing Napster too, the other area.
There's only two reasons I can think of to stop it being implemented:

1) Sonos have some sort of exclusive hardware deal with Napster
2) It need stuff done in firmware and there's not enough capacity

Neither seem very likely.

I heard about the hardware issue, to do with the need for a larger
buffer. As for exclusive deals, well, think games for ps3 and
xbox360...

I hope that logitech are working on this deal, truly hope so - still
this and other threads are to remind them, if there ever was any need -
that Napster integration is something that the comunity wishes for, in
particular in those countries where Napster is available. There are soo
many new customers to woo with this offering...
