Re: [slim] Ogg Vorbis issue & BBC Radio question
convert.conf should be in the directory where all the other slimserver files are. I had a problem playing ogg with 5.4.1 and resolved it by removing the -R option where it reads [oggdec] -Q -o - -R $FILE$". I still can't play ogg files with 6.0 beta though. Thanks again, I'll let you know if I manage to progress - I'm really an amateur at all this so not too confident! I have my doubts about its ability to deal well with transcoding. Hi Jules, Thanks for the tips - I'll let you know if I make a break-through. If you want to stream BBC radio, then you'll need a copy of AlienBBC. It's available from: http://www.mrtickle.org/alienbbc.html However... I do have to confess - we've never tried running AlienBBC on a linkstation... and I'm not totally sure it will be easy. The only main piece you'll need (in addition to thinks like 'lame' potentially working), is 'mplayer' working. Again, this is something that we don't package... and I've absolutely no idea if anybody has ever even TRIED to make that work. Sorry if that's not the most helpful answer in the world. I do wish you the very best of luck, though... and if you do make it work - I'd love to hear from you! -- Jules Alan Parkyn wrote: > Hi there, > > Ogg Vorbis problem: > > I'm a Squeezebox newbie running 5.4.1 on a 250GB Buffalo LinkStation > (thanks SO much to Marc D. Hi there, Thanks for your help - you're right I don't appear to have Lame. Do you know how I'd go about downloading it, compiling it and installing it to my LinkStation? Thanks, Alan. what this is telling you is that required binaries are missing. In this case, you are either missing oggdec or LAME. oggdec is included with the server for a s many cases as possible, but LAME has to be downloaded/compiled by the end user due to licensing issues. Look in player settings->audio. Under bitrate limiting, you will see in the description whether LAME has been detected or not in your system. -kdf ___ Discuss mailing list Discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/discuss -- No virus found in this incoming message. [slim] Ogg Vorbis issue & BBC Radio question
Hi there, Ogg Vorbis problem: I’m a Squeezebox newbie running 5.4.1 on a 250GB Buffalo LinkStation (thanks SO much to Marc D.
