Re: [slim] Podcast Setup/Configuration

2015-01-02 Thread Michael Herger

Asides from migrating the podcasts from mysb.com, is there anything else
I should know about moving from 7.7.2 to 7.9? Where is the best place to
read up?

Check out the changelogs linked in some sticky posting in the LMS board.

err, I'd rather cut off my right arm than use iTunes. I've no idea but
some of them date back to when I did the first install of LMS using 7.4,
I've now got LMS 7.7.2 which has been running pretty well minus the
scanner problems since I installed it. Time to update.

Thanks again for all the great help...

Podcast used to be an extension up to about 7.5??. Then it became
supported through mysb.com (if you enable podcast extension in Extras
menu with this version you get problems). IIRC Then in order to prepare
for mysb.com going away - 7.9 (I think but perhaps 7.8) podcast again
became an extension and has no reliance on mysb.com

That may well explain it then... I've not updated the server in a while,
I'm out of town so can't check. I did though login to mysqueezebox.com
and the podcasts their are a complete match. So that answers my original
question, thank you.

Follow-up question, when I upgrade and podcasts becomes an extension
again, what happens to all my old subscriptions and especially the MP3
files that are the actual podcasts?

There's a feature to import mysb.com managed podcasts to the new plugin.

The data itself (mp3) never was stored. It's being streamed to the
player directly. Therefore there is nothing to loose.

Excellent.

Which begs the question, prior to podcasts moving to mysqueezebox.com,
were they stored locally?

I ask because this is what started this whole thread off. I was browsing
through folders on my ReadyNas, which is where I run my LMS, and there
were hundreds of MP3 files from the podcasts I'd been listening to.

[slim] Podcast Setup/Configuration

2014-11-21 Thread cathcam

I've had my LMS running on a local ReadyNas for maybe 4+ years. Sometime
back when I installed it I setup some podcasts, all but one still
works.

So I went to add a new podcast, and delete the old one, I just can't see
how to do that!

If I go here:
http://192.168.1.3:9000/plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/Podcast/settings/basic.html
it shows me podcasts I don't have, and doesn't show me the podcasts I
have. I'm confused... as far as I know, I've never used mysb.com

How id I set these up, and how do I change them?
