[slim] Re: Headphone connection on SB2

2005-05-14 Thread lostboy

Just received 2xSB2 wired and 1xSB2 wireless from broadbandstuff.co.uk,
and all have the missing resistor. I happened to have the right
components to hand and added them and all works OK. On the last one I
opened up I saw that there was a date sticker on the inside of the case
showing a 15th March 2005 date - is this relevant?. I sense that the
headphone output level is lower for the SB2 than for the SB1 it
replaced - is this intentional?

exact MAC range of Squeezebox2s shipped with this issue is not known,

RCA analog outputs and digital outputs are unaffected by this BTW.

MAC Address: 00:04:20:05:A2:6A (Slim Devices)

I do not have problems with the headphone jack itself, it's a tight
enough fit and the channels are both there. There is about a seconds
of noise at the start of a song, though. It's a bit like the base
noise in a fax / modem connection.

Just in case it's any use to the folks looking into this, my SB2
(wired) was bought in the UK through Broadbandstuff, and I did once get
a slightly dodgy headphone connection, but I think the headphones may
not have been properly plugged in. Apart from that the headphone
connection has been fine. Its MAC address is 00:04:20:05:a1:37

Good idea, mine are: 00-04-20-05-a8-ec and 00-04-20-05-a9-0d, both
producing audio on the left channel only of the headphone socket.
