Depends on which Squeezebox(es) I am using and in what room and why. I really like the features that the WebUI has available so if I am near a PC I will use that. Next is iPeng because I usually have my phone next to me anyway. I do a lot on the Touch. I have a Controller in two different rooms so they are the choice when in those rooms or during parties. I rarely use the IR Remote and when I do it is usually my Harmony 1000, not the factory remote (have 10 of those in a draw without batteries). Transporter is a combination of TransNav Knob and iPeng. On the Booms and SB Radio, I really just use the knob (and iPeng for anything involved). Speaking of 10s of thousands of tracks, try that with CDs. That is one thing I like about Touch, tap and hold while I scroll and I am at a specific letter quickly. Makes it very handy with huge libraries. It takes all day with the Controller, turning and turning the wheel. We need a new 'Touch' Controller. If I had an iPad, I might just only use it. If I want to create some specific play lists for a party it's usually the web UI to set it up and then the controller to tweak/add extra stuff as the night progresses. I don't consider it a downside having so many options each with their own characteristics, you could never create one to rule them all. The openness of squeeze means everyone wins and uses it how it suits their needs. If so, I need to figure that out, because I use the Harmony soley for controlling my Duet and then have to manually turn on each Boom. I'm comfortable to grab the nearest and most available. I find IR fine for radio and selecting from New Music or if I have a particular album in mind. For general browsing and on the fly playlists, I find controller or iPeng better. I have an extra dock next to pc for SBC and if it's there (SBC still downstairs this morning) then I'd use SBC. iPeng is great, once it is loaded, and if not using phone for anything else. The options confuse some people, e.g. GF, but I think the flexibility is a significant benefit of the system. Most of the time I use the IR interface, works great for my normal usage, which is playing smart playlists. I'm using a Harmony remote, the standard Squeezebox remote is in a box somewhere. When I really want to find something by browsing the library I either pick up the iPod Touch with iPeng or walk to the Squeezebox Touch and use its interface. I have a feeling iPeng will take over all browsing as soon as Apple starts selling the iPad here in Sweden. Under some circumstances I use a laptop and its web interface but it is mostly related to when I like to re-configure something. Yes...very true...and I think you did exactly what I had expected people to do... vote based on most often used controller... If I allowed multi-vote, then pretty much everyone would vote for nearly everything (except for options that they don't have...) Sitting at the pc I'll use the web interface or squeezeplay. I'll use the controller when I am near to it and I want to browse albums or control several players. The infrared remotes control the players in the kitchen and bedroom when I am there - they are fast and simple and the knobs and dials on the various players get used when I am close and can't be bothered to hunt the remote/controller. I love IPeng and use this as a backup for the controller. I don't have iPeng, but I use WebUI, Moose, IR, Controller and front panel knobs. My controller cradle is on top of my desktop PC, so if I'm in there I have the choice of Web, Moose, or controller - even then it's what's most convenient at the moment (if browser is already pointed at SBS, I'll use that...) Have Radio in my bedroom - usually use front panel controls, but also have my extra Boom remote nearby. In Kitchen have a Boom - that gets combination of front panel, IR remote, and controller. Living room has SB3, so that's most often IR remote, sometimes Controller. Receiver in Family Room is mostly controlled by Controller. When you use the Mixed Tag scanning module in Custom Scan it provides a new Tags menu through Custom Browse that uses the principles you want. All scanned tags can be browsed in any order/combination in unlimited number of levels. I'm due for a new phone and have been keeping the ability to use the Web UI in mind when browsing, and I'd really like to get my hands on a Chumby to see what that could do for interfacing. N800 or laptop for choosing albums or songs from my library. Actually, I use the standard remote, n800, laptop, and desktop PC interchangeably, depending on which one is most convenient at the moment. Although having only a single-line text display is definitely pretty limiting, I just hate using a computer to listen to music. I'd say both the web and remote interfaces are must-haves for your typical plugin, however. Actually, even when I do have my laptop in the same room as the SB, I will almost always grab the remote anyway.
