Short answer is *No*.

You don't need to be connected to the internet, but you *do need to be
connected* to your local network.

Unless you set it up in WAP mode.

Your "smartpi" needs to be connected to your local network.

You could set it up to run in WAP mode > piCorePlayer > Wifi settings

Re: [slim] Install Picore player

2021-11-15 Thread 19lee79

You access it via MAIN PAGE > EXTRAS > BOOTCODES > set WAIT FOR USB to
between 5 and 10. and that solved my problem of the USB drive not being
mounted before LMS started. I did that set to about 5 seconds.
But still not the problem.
See, usually when turning on a player of anything mp3 and it will come
on.
But since i'm not get the player connected to the net, I booted up my
player and after loading, i went to My music but it shows nothing saying

To enable “My Music” try the following:

Download the logitech Media Server software from www.mysqueezebox.com
and make
sure it is installed and running on a computer on the network.

Insert a SD card into the SD slot.

Connect a storage device to the USB port.

So can u play the player not being connect since i have the USB drive
connected to the pi

I'm not completely sure what your problem is, but I noticed that you
mention music on an USB-drives and it did not work after powering up.

The problem might be that LMS is starting before your USB drive is ready
- so try to set "wait for USB" on the tweaks page to something like 10
sec. If that solves the problem you can try to reduce the wait time.

You don't connect players to the internet. I seriously don't understand
what you're trying to do, what you're actually doing, and what the
problem is.

Back when i connected the player to the internet to be access online, i
when to the LMS page and restart the LMS to load up on the player and
also i click the autostart and save.

You don't have to start LMS to turn on a player. You only need one LMS
for all your players.

If you are using the FLIRC there's absolutely no need to even look at
that page.

On a PC just program the FLIRC using the FLIRC software and your
JustBoom IR remote, when done, plug it into the Raspberry Pi, it should
just work.

No offence taken Kidstypike, in fact I was trying to remember who it was
I helped and whether there was any part of it on the forum !

19Lee79 as you say seems to have IR+JL+justboom, he has been looking at
the instructions for creating a custom keytable.
I take it that he has created the custom keytables and is having trouble
uploading them (The commands he keeps posting are use via SSH
instructions)
I think that English is not His/Her first language so I may be
misinterpreting what they are saying.

19Lee79 has also posted they have a Flirc and tried to use lirc to run
that, I explained (albeit briefly) lirc is not needed with Flirc

There is no easy way that I am aware of to get a custom keytables file
without SSH and command line operations so Flirc would be they're only
real option

Not wishing to appear rude here, but the guy seems to have jivelite

to make it all work.

You may recall you assisted me with a FLIRC a few years ago, so custom
keytables et al are beyond my scope.

I do not think I've used SSH to load a Remote conf file since its been
available on the web GUI so I'd recommend that

I looked over here
https://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?110640-Howto-create-a-linux-kernel-IR-remote-keytable-for-Jivelite-on-piCorePlayer-5

cd /usr/local/etc/keytables
sudo cp /usr/local/share/pcp-irtools/files/justboomir jivelite
sudo ir-keytable -c -w jivelite
pcp bu

The JustBoom IR remote should now work with jivelite without
restarting.

So is that all that i need.

Ok, on here

Install your own LIRC configuration file(s)

Default installation only supports Logitech Squeezebox remote. If you
are using another remote controller you need to supply your own
configuration file(s).

To use your own configuration file(s):

Copy the file(s) either:
via ssh to the /tmp directory, or
to an attached USB flash drive.
Press the [Custom] button and your configuration file(s) will be copied
and used by pCP.

How do i go by writing my own IR remote lirc to usb to customize

Yes.

Enter the path to your music files, click "Apply" bottom right, this

By default yes.

When you play a song, does it move on to the next song like on a CD or
any other MP3 player where it just play song one after another.

Also, how to you shuffle them and will it start over once it reaches the

The USB drive needs to be accessible by LMS.
If your pCP installation is where you installed LMS then you need to go
back to the LMS tab in the pCP web interface and check to see what it
shows in the "Pick from the following detected USB disks to mount"
section.
Do you see your disk listed and have you "Enabled" it?

Then you need to tell LMS about it - from the LMS web interface -
Settings/Basic Settings/Media Folders/Browse
and then tell it to Rescan.

Have you installed LMS?

You need to mount the flash drive on the LMS page of piCorePlayer.

Then configure LMS to scan the flash drive.

All players available will show up under "Choose Player".

You can select and control any player on your network that's connected
to LMS.

The Jivelite section of the Tweaks area in pCP web interface

"Screen rotation (0|180) less>

Allows you to rotate the screen if the display is upside down.

A reboot is required to activate the changes.

Note: On some (most) screen mounts, the screen is actually upside down.

0 - brown ribbon cable at bottom of screen.
180 - brown ribbon cable at top of screen (default)."
