Re: [slim] Pandora now in 192kbps!
So, I reinstalled the pandora plugin (that is required), and also made sure that the current pandora password for my pandora account is entered in the pandora my apps on mysqueezebox, and it works and runs pandora at 192 kbps. Probably one of the main reasons I dropped it before was the limit of 128 kbps before, although nowadays the norm is probably 320 kbps. Guess Pandora will always be one step behind ? Anyway, my question: with respect to LMS, there appears to be no difference between the basic free account and the non-free accounts plus and premium. I realize, I can do all these things on the Pandora web interface, but with respect to the LMS interface, I can just create and play radio stations whether free or paid, correct ? Michael, thanks for the heads up and any and all efforts to get Pandora to 192 kbps. I am debating to try the plus account for a while which is reasonable at $5/mo. Maybe use to try new albums out. freelsjd's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=4344 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112313 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

With a Premium account, Pandora users can play much more than just "Stations". They can search for recordings and add them to their "Collection." Added recordings can then be accessed through "Artists," "Albums," and "Songs." In addition, the Collection can contain Playlists, Podcasts, and Episodes. I would not necessarily expect to be able to manipulate these categories through LMS, but it would be a great addition if they could be played through LMS. And > he made it possible: we can finally stream Pandora in 192kbps :-). This is *-great-*. I realized the other day that I missed Pandora, I'd lost access as migrated to PiCore based players and was too lazy/cheap/stupid to just go subscribe. I dragged out my old radio and confirmed that Pandora still worked on it and also confirmed that the cheap/stupid trick of saving favorites and then playing them on the PiCore devices works (as a test that they can play the stream). Now to upgrade my account. That leaves me with a couple of questions: - Do I need the Premium or is Plus sufficient? The only differences seem to be $5 and the ability to make playlists (ah, and search requires listening to an ad). I'm more interested in specific artists/albums/tracks and "radio"-like features that riff on an artist. - - Do we still need to log into mysqueezebox to make this all work, or is/will-be there a way to use it stand alone (like the spotify client)? hartzell's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=54772 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=112313 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

What a shock. This is great news! It would be even greater if they would allow us to access some of their newer features, which are only available through their apps and web site. But my guess is that's unlikely. Still, very glad to have this increase in quality.
