Re: [slim] Possible to sync new players (classic, boom) with ROKU soundbridges?
I'm a convert from the soundbridges, I own a Soundbridge M1001, and it's still working like a charm. I've tried SqueezeCenter with it and the emulation mode works fine. I've even tried to sync it with SoftSqueeze and that worked. So I got a SqueezeBox Boom. Now, the bugger is that I cannot sync the Boom with the SoundBridge. If I that I can control the playback via the Boom, but the audio output on the Boom seems muted. It doesn't matter whether I sync roku squeezebox or squeezebox roku. The funny thing is that it works when I sync my boom to softsqueeze, and my roku to softsqueeze all 3 units play fine. (Of course Roku is out of sync by some seconds, but hey, it's out of hearing range.) So what's the difference between softsqueeze and the boom in this syncing issue? I know that RoKu emulates an ancient firmware/model, but given that it works with softsqueeze definitely means something, am I right? -- fizze fizze's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=29799 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60288 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Possible to sync new players (classic, boom) with ROKU soundbridges?
I have a Soundbridge Radio, 2 SB3s, and a Boom. At one time, Roku claimed to support SlimServer 5.x, but it's never worked well, and they haven't updated their firmware in years. I haven't even bothered to try it with SqueezeCenter. Sometime soon, the Roku will get replaced by another Boom. -- corbey corbey's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=11286 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60288 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

OT, but: the red lines are the heating filaments of the vacuum fluorescent display. they are always on and can only be switched off by unplugging the SBC. -- dcote dcote's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=9701 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60288 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

that's true and - by the way - on of the advantages of the roku soundbridges. they can be switched of completely, so no red lines are to be seen on the display at night. another ot. Can someone confirm / deny this? You'll find lots of posts from folks who are having problems and swear the Duet just plain doesn't work. But there are also lots of folks who are using Duets every day without problem. So whatever answers you get to that question, the only way to find out how it will work -for you- would be to try it. Most retailers have simple return policies, ranging up to 30 days. My Duets have been in use almost every day since last July, with no significant problems. My wife and I love 'em. But there are plenty of posts from people who just haven't been able to get them to work, for whatever reason. So realistically, the only way for you to judge the Duet will be to get one and try it. -- Dogberry2 Dogberry2's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=18883 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60288 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

The Roku emulates an SB1, so theoretically it should be able to synch using the latest SC. However synching SliMP3/SB1 is harder than newer players, so results might be variable. Re: [slim] Possible to sync new players (classic, boom) with ROKU soundbridges?
IIRC The Roku internal buffer size/handling is different to an SB1 so when SC does sync calculations they don't quite match and so audio will not sync. It may be possible to sync two Roku but a mixed group is unlikely. A few years ago there was a long thread where a user investigate this issue - it would be worth checking out but sync code has changed a lot since that thread. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60288 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

I'm using the newest version of the SC 7.3.2.
