Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
Thought about this some more lst night. I believe the Touch installs iPlayer locally, not the LMS. I am running v1.2.9 of iPlayer. I removed it, upgraded to 7.7.2 the reinstalled it. It made no difference to iPlayer, I am still getting no listings for radio 4, 4Extra and 6music. Very frustrating. steve4586's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
There's an applet - BBC Radio for the Touch and the Radio - this is installed locally. There's a plugin - BBC iPlayer - this is installed on the LMS server. Either one should give you on demand listings. There's another plugin - BBC Extras - this also gives listings. castalla's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=15624 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
So does the Touch use the same plugin as the SB3? If so, I am really confused now as the Touch works fine. I have been using iPlayer extra, but the interface isn't quite as accessible as iPlayer. My wife really likes iPlayer, but is frustrated by iPlayer extra. For the moment I have swapped SB3 and Touch so it is where we do most of our iPlaying. Thanks for the help and advice, it is really appreciated. steve4586's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

You can also install a BBCiPlayer App for Touch Radio which does the same but without need for a local LMS. The Extra plugin was not intended to replace the iPLayer plugin just add additional choice such as the top 10 categories. However after user requests it can aso provide a fallback when BBCiPlayer XML feed is not working. The Extra awkward menu is determined the alternative source of prog info. Since Extra works but BBCiPlayer own menu is empty then check that BBCiPlayer plugin is up to date (what version have you installed ) ? Another possibility is some problem getting XML so I suggest clearing LMS cache and also check date/time on LMS host. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
Ok, but I am not sure how to clear the cache? Can't find instructions in the Wiki or in the forum. I assume this isn't a clear library and rescan? Could you point me in the right direction? steve4586's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
First check the BBCiPlayer plugin version. What version is installed ? Cache location depends on the OS. With Windows there is a conrol application which can clear the cache. The WebUI Setting/Info tab gives the cache location at the end of the page but depending your installation and plugins etc. you may not want to clear all caches/ bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
The time settings are ok as I sync via ntp. The LMS is installed on a sheevaplug, and is debian, the cache is located in the default /var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache I am getting program listings for most stations, but Radio 4, 4 LW and 6 Music only show empty when trying to browse programs. Listen live works ok for all station. And the stations I listen to mostly? Yep Radio 4 and 6 music, so this is slightly annoying. Is there a command to clear the cache or is this via rm (I'll try not to rm * -f at root :-)) Thank you steve4586's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=7928 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

One of the cases when you may want to be more selective is when using some of Erlands plugins like trackstat and don't want to restore stats from backup files . Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
For SB3 you need the BBCiPlayer plugin on your LMS. So you need to look at the Settings/plugin page on your LMS web interface. What version of the BBCiPlayer plugin have you installed ? bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Puzzled about iPlayer problem
Just checked and its working fine for me - SB3 and 7.7.2. The iplayer app is installed on LMS not the SB3 - not sure if it can be separately installed on a Touch. Mine only looks at LMS and doesn't use the built in server. d6jg's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=44051 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98110 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
