If you have a controllerfor each receiver... press and hold the receiver button until it flashes red. power off controller, then hold "+" when you power back on. Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
LontTime Dummy (sounds like me) I think I might have an Idea where you went wrong, same place I got stuck. You have downloaded PiCoreplayer v. 7.00 OK but then On the Instruction Page "Burn piCoreplayer onto a SD card Windows Win 32 Disk Imager click on that, brings you to Using Win 32 Disk Imager, go down to the bottom of the page to More Information and there you click on Win 32 Disk Imager, and it will open to SourceFORGE and from there you can actually download the Win 32m Disk Imager you then will find that in your Download Folder to burn the PiCoreplayer to the SD card Hope you can follow that brentano's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56514 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

In my main listening system, it is a Stereo setup (two speakers only). I also have a TOUCH connected to my home cinema system and can play music there. It is a 5.1 system, and uses left, right, center, two rear speakers, and a subwoofer (but this is all because of the receiver and has nothing to do with LMS). Both systems sound good, but I prefer the two speaker stereo system. *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dbpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

No I can't see either what I am looking for, but I remember when I first joined the Forum, 2012 after that it would have been between 2012 and 2014 that I asked you if it was safe to install that plugin since it was from memory 3rd party. But never mind, do you miss a centre Speaker when playing LMS, naturally you wouldn't if you only use it for background music, but for sitting and listening ? brentano's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56514 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Not unusual for me not to be able to express myself for others to understand what I am dribbling on about. I don't know if that would be for PiCoreplayer or LMS, going back some years while running LMS off the PC, LMS had brought out updates 3rd party to be able to play Digital HD, LMS enables you to use a Subwoofer with your audio system, but a centre speaker is not enabled. Hence my question about a update or whatever it would require, I wouldn't have clue, just finding that the centre speaker improves vocals and general mid-range in audio playback. brentano's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=56514 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
Great news. Enjoy. Two reminders. Because you're running LMS, you need to do an "orderly" shutdown if you turn off the rPi (and keep in mind that I keep mine on 24/7 for months at a time, but sometimes want to shut down, remove the USB drive, and do some updating (because I don't use SAMBA). To do a proper shutdown, on the main piCorePlayer page, click the shutdown button. When you are ready to restart rPi simply apply power to the rPi to cause it to bootup (if you never unplugged it, simply remove and reattach the powercord. See picture. 34314 Second, to make sure that LMS automatically starts when you reboot the rPi, make sure you've set that option on the LMS tab. See picture. 34315 +---+ |Filename: Screenshot (21).jpg | |Download: http://forums.slimdevices.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=34315| +---+ *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP4.0/4TB>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dbpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

One thing I would recommend moving forward is to read and participate in this forum, and play around in the pCP, LMS UI and Settings, to not only learn what is going on "under the hood" but to learn what alot of cool things others are doing Sorry to hear about your audio woes. I just solved a "subwoofer problem" that I am embarrassed to admit I sort of lived with for a year. I have a small system - touch, arcam amp, Klipsch bookshelf speakers in our cabin that I decided to add a tiny sub to. I had to hook it up via speaker wires. It just didn't sound right. I had to turn it's gain up quite high, then occasionally a bass note or two would boom. I thought placement, but I really wanted to keep it in a spot that I figured was less ideal, as it's really just background listening here. I also have alot of reno going on here, so moved on. Then, this year, I was messing around with the wiring (added a dac, the ever growing "small system"), I unplugged one of the two speaker leads from the amp to the sub and the sub came alive! I knew immediately what I had done. One of the channels was hooked up out of phase. So, when the base notes were present on both channels, the sub amp through integrating them, essentially was cancelling them. The occasional notes that would "boom" had to be present only on one channel. I felt both ecstatic and sick at the same time. The system now sounds wonderful, better than I had hoped when I bought the sub, and added the dac. I am super pleased, but still think about the lost year (essentially last spring, summer fall :o ). so, check your hookup :) and the setting in your receiver. Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
Congratulations! Do a backup. It's not clear to me, "How and what did you format?" I've made a lot of piCorePlayer SD cards (100's) and only once have I had to do a low level format to fix a corrupted SD card, never had to format any partitions. I do occasionally format an additional third partition on the SD card but assume you are not up to that yet. AFAIK, all the SD image creation tools are bit to bit copiers and will overwrite anything on the SD card, "formatting is futile". Is there something special to do for very large SD cards? I only use <= 32 GB SD cards. Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
Great News, thank you all you've made my day, it is all working now as it should, all folders are visible and playing on the Touch. One little point I would like to make is I did Format a SD card just to see if it would work before using a new one. Google suggested to Format it in exFat not good Format in Fat32. Hopefully now my horrid run in Audio that started in early December has come to an end. It all started with my Velodyne Sub-woofer thumping at start and stop of CD's and turning off power or changing over to the Touch so I suspected the Amp of the Velodyne to have carked it again as it done twice before, first time under Warranty next time just out of Warranty but Velodyne did a Good Will gesture and fixed it. Velodyne US is not in business anymore now, but a German Company in Hamburg have taken them up again so I got a new back panel from Germany, but in the meantime I learned that it was not the Subwoofer but my Yamahas Subwoofer board had blown caps. So I invested in a Marantz AVR, ( since I can't recommend my soldering talent) only to have no or hardly any sound coming out of the subbie, using Audacity didn't help either. Marantz here we come a brummy, bring it in they told me, but I thought before I go I buy a new Subwoofer cable installed it and Bingo all good. The model AVR that I got does not have inbuild Blue-tooth but they sell a additional external Receiver, but since all the newer models have it inbuilt they don't sell them anymore, so I had to buy a third party Receiver, anyone ever looking for one, I can highly recommend the bluMe HD, very good sound including HD Tracks, never thought Blu tooth could produce quality sound like that, Then I tried to get my Logitech Squeezebox running of LINUX, several Members on this Forum did they're best trying to get me going, in the end I gave up, when garym suggested the Raspberry Pi 4B and the rest you know. I keep my Fingers crossed for the next 2 weeks (not the Legs though) And absolutely garym, if you ever make it to Melbourne ( we are now 50 days COVID FREE) so not a bad place to visit (if they let you in) that is, we make good Beer and Red Wine getting cheaper by the day since the Chinese blocked our Export. Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
I have been following this thread watching Gary and Kidstypike help the OP through this process, staying out of it, but knowing the first time you do it, you don't really understand "why" you are doing the steps, and what they really mean. Making it worse, the pCP "How tos" are for an older version pCP. So, if you make a miss step, you may not know how to recover. Yesterday I found myself thinking that it would be helpful to first timers if the pCP "how to's" were up to date...After you do a couple, you can follow the "how to's" and adapt, but as a first timer, it can stop you in your tracks. Kidstypike, you did just that in post #19! Good Job! I'll leave it up to you how you get to this point. Burn pCP 7.0.0 to a new or freshly re-formatted 16GB SD card. Insert card, attach network cable & USB drive to Pi. Power up Pi. Find IP address of Pi and enter it into a web browser address bar, and press enter. "*Main page*", scroll down to bottom of page and click the "*Beta tab*", dismiss warning. "*Main page*", Click "*Resize FS*", select 2000MB (minimum if installing LMS) from dropdown box. Click "*Resize*", (takes a couple of minutes). *"Tweaks" page* "*Host Name*" you can keep pCP or rename, I renamed to pCPdemo, press "*Save*". (Reboot). *"LMS" page*, under "*Install and enable additional file systems*", click "*Install*". *"LMS" page*, under "*Set Network DisK Mount*", enter a name, this can be anything you like, it's just an identifier, keep it simple, I entered "*demo*". Tick the "*Enabled*" box. click "*Set USB Mount*". 34298 *"LMS" page*, click "*Install LMS*". Once installed click "*Start LMS*", if started you should see a green tick and LMS is running. (At the time of writing this installs LMS v8.1.1). *"LMS" page*, click "*Configure LMS*", this may or may not open at a "Wizard", mine didn't, it opened at the "*Basic settigs*" tab. Enter the path to your music files on the USB drive by clicking the "*Browse*" button alongside Media Folder". In the pop-up window, expand "*mnt*", expand "*demo*", select your music files folder. This will enter the correct path into the media folder box, no need to type anything, close the pop-up window. Repeat for playlist folder if needed, or leave blank. Click the "Rescan" button, 34299 Click the "*Scanning - View Progress link*". 34302 That's it. Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
Your screen shots are not attached. I think you're issue is in the mounting of the USB drive in piCorePlayer. But the screen shots showing that mounting will be useful to diagnose. p.s. You don't need new SD cards if you need to start over. You can rewrite a new piCorePlayer image to the existing SD card with no problem. *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP4.0/4TB>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dbpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

So Good Morning to you folks in Lancashire, hope I am right, freezing morning here in Melbourne 7ºC too cold for me. OK last night when I looked at your Screen shots I knew that mine should be something similar but they are not, far from it. I don't know how far I have to go back if possible without starting from scratch again, but if needed so be it SD cards are cheap enough now. So kidstypike can you guide me from here on and hopefully I will end up with a working LMS server. Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
I installed Picoreplayer for use as a LMS server only on a Pi3B+, I have a windows 10 machine, and I know nothing about Linux. I followed the instructions below and after some tribulations, I was successful: https://docs.picoreplayer.org/how-to/ Three tips after you have burned a fresh picore image to the SD card. 1) Plug the Pi into your router using an ethernet connection, so you don't have to worrying about Wi-Fi issues in the set-up. (If you are using the Pi just as LMS server, then connecting permanent via ethernet is best, because it does not need to be near your audio equipment.) 2) Log into your router to get the IP address of the Pi. This way you can type the IP address from your windows machine and connect to the Pi. I found logging into my router was the easiest way to find he Pi's IP address. 3) In setting up the USB drive and Samba, be very careful on the names and case as they both have to be the same. (a f versus F in LMSfiles caused me trouble.) The fact you had it working once is a good sign you did something right, but you just might need to start over now. I had to start from scratch a couple of times because I messed up something. If you run into trouble, it would be helpful to reference where in the "how to" documentation you are having trouble. The people here will help you, as they helped me! Re: [slim] Setting Up LMS On A Raspberry Pi 4B
Brentano, you had PiCorePlayer installed and working before. It was only the missing folders in LMS causing the problems. As others have said, start over with a fresh install to the SD card. And go back and reread the PMs I gave you on some of your setup questions. But yes, first get piCorePlayer installed and visible on your web browser using the R rPi IP address, then we can help with next steps. *Home:* Pi4B-8GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Transporter, Touch, Boom, Radio (all ethernet) *Cottage:* rPi4B-4GB/pCP7.x/4TB>LMS 8.1.x>Touch>Benchmark DAC I, Boom, Radio w/Battery (Radio WIFI) *Office:* Win10(64)>foobar2000 *The Wild: *rPi3B+/pCP4.0/4TB>hifiberry Dac+Pro (LMS & Squeezelite) *Controllers:* iPhone11 & iPadAir3 (iPeng), CONTROLLER, Material Skin, or SqueezePlay 7.8 on Win10(64) *Files:* -Ripping-: dbpoweramp > FLAC; -Post-rip-: mp3tag, PerfectTunes, TuneFusion; -Streaming:- Spotify garym's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=17325 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=114408 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
