Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
Thanks Aubuti Sorry if slightly cross-posting but I saw on the web UI that there is a later version of Squeezecenter (7.5.4) than the one I have (7.5.1). Is that stable and worth upgrading to and is there anything to look out for? Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
7.5.4 was released last week. I have been using it since January, when it was still beta. I haven't had any problems with it, and haven't seen massive reports of problems, but as always at least some users are having problems that they attribute to the upgrade. I'd advise upgrading because 7.5.4 contains numerous small bugfixes over 7.5.1 -- and if it doesn't work out for you it's always possible to go back. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87145 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
That should not be, you can sync a lot more than two. Which user interface do you use? Have you tried the web interface? -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87145 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
No I haven't - I'm new to this game I'm afraid. Is that Mysqueezebox.com? I really wanted to do it on the fly from one of the machines rather than having to log in to something else but if that's the only way I do have iPeng on an iPhone - it may be possible to do it on that, just haven't fathomed it all out yet. Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
Actually iPeng is the easiest way to set up a sync group -- thanks pippin! But I'll leave it to pippin to describe how, especially because I don't have mine in front of me now, so I could easily miss a step. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87145 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Thanks Indeed, in iPeng it should be rather simple. For details, see Help-Quick Tutorials-Players and Music Sources. 1. Go to the MultiPlayer page (swipe right on NowPlaying), it's that one: http://penguinlovesmusic.de/wp-content/gallery/ipeng-1-2/img_0321.png 2. press the edit button at the top right, you can now select and unselect players, at the bottom left there is a checkmark button to select all at once. 3. after you've checked the players you want to sync, press the sync button (chain icon) at the bottom center. 4. iPeng will now ask you which player's playlist you want to use on the synced players. 5. et voila. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote and *New: iPeng for iPad*, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87145 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
Use the webUI. On the computer that is running Squeezebox Server, open a web browser (IE, Firefox, Chrome, Safari) and go to: http://localhost:9000 On other computers go to: http://ip of your SBS machine:9000 The players are in a pull down in the upper right. Pick a player you want to sync, then select Synchronize in the drop down and pick another player you want to pair it with and select synchronize. To add another player to that pair, FIRST SELECT the additional player and then select synchronize to add it to the others. The mental leap is that you FIRST SELECT the player you want to add to or drop from a sync group. If three players are synced and you want to drop one from the group, FIRST SELECT the player you want to drop and then select the synchronize option. Re: [slim] Sync several SBs
Many thanks to all. The iPeng method does seem much simpler. I can also see why there needs to be a master machine for the playlist to be sync'd. I haven't really got into the web UI as I run SBS on a Ready NAS and it's all a bit of black box (literally!) at the moment. -- shogger shogger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=41751 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87145 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss

Assuming you have a computer, just point its web browser to http://NAS_IP:9000/ to get the web UI, substituting the real IP address of your ReadyNAS in place of NAS_IP in the address. -- aubuti aubuti's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2074 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=87145 ___ discuss mailing list discuss@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/discuss
