Re: [slim] jive.bin

Interesting. I will give it a shot. Thanks for the info. Perhaps the
update over LAN would be working if there was actually a jive.bin file
in the cache folder?

As I suspected, there is no jive.bin in that cache folder. I checked
there last evening, and just confirmed it.

So what's the deal? Does anyone have any idea where to get jive.bin
for 7.3?

Re: [slim] jive.bin

2008-09-10 Thread Mnyb

It's here r2907 is/was the jive for 7.3:

http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.2.1/

r2907 is also the jive for 7.2.1, this was the one for 7.3 in my
jive.verson file in my 7.3 install.
And the one that was installed some days ago when I installed the 7.3
that was current then.

but if you actually read my last reply, i think you should use r2873 on
7.3 until a next version is released.
Theres is probably a very good reason for removing it, I found one
serious bug in it, there could be more.
Beta testing is fun you got to see the latest development, but things
like this (or worse )is to be expected a beta IS for testing things.
There was no significant difference between 2873 and 2907 that was
apparent to an end user like me.

Re: [slim] jive.bin

2008-09-09 Thread Teus de Jong

I have the same situation here: for some reason the controller will not
update via my network (while the jive.bin is complete in the cache
folder).

You can update via the sd-card; get the bin from
update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/
The newest is at the moment in the 7.2.1 folder (there was one in the
7.3 folder, but that disappeared).

That was part of the question. Where, on my local host, is jive.bin
stored? You mention in the cache folder? I could easily get it onto
an sd card if I could find it on my local machine.

Re: [slim] jive.bin

2008-09-09 Thread Mnyb

I think the update function is broken ? i have the latest 7.3 I have
downgraded to r2873 due to a bug in r2907.

Never the less when i go to the Software update menu I see the
updated software is available text but the version is ? instead of
r2907 which i have in my cache folder ?

Noob question from me, does the controller get the jive file from the
internet instead of the local cache (as 7.3 branch is empty that would
explain it ) ? if so do you update the local cache to ?

The content of the jive.version file in 7.3 is:

7.2 r2907
[EMAIL PROTECTED] #54 Fri Sep 5 02:19:12 PDT 2008

never the less i would go here:
http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/
and here:
http://update.slimdevices.com/update/firmware/7.2/ and fetch the r2873
until r2907 is superseded by something better.

And use the SD card method to down/upgrade.
