Last time I checked, AutoCorrect != AutoComplete.

I agree with you that the place for turning AutoComplete on/off should

Perhaps because people have figured out that it goes without saying that
it is a MS problem. Or, MS having killed off most of the computing
industry and thus most of the advertising, has become such an essential
advertising account that editors fear to annoy them.

A virus is only harmless data, unless your system and mail client is
designed to run it on sight. Same goes for other applications.

If OOo could run MS macros, then it would be a problem for OOo too.
Depending on how the macros are implemented in OOo it may become a problem
anyway.

Viruses and span could be slowed down or done away with if everyone
learn what Digital Signing is all about such as gnu-pg or pgp is and
sign all there email. If banks and other Company's started Digital
Signing there email's we could tell who emails are coming from and could
filter and delete them. Email and Digital Signing into as part of an
Office Suite would make a more complete office suite which is good for
all.

But you're right, usually HTML mail is just plain unnecessary.

What happens is that with great difficulty you can edit, but the
cursor keys don't work, neither does backspace, nor page up/down,
nor home/end. There is no problem if I revert to v 1.1.5.

Any comments?

Solaris uses pkgadd. I suggest you read the manpage for pkgadd to select
the correct options. THere is some Solaris setup info in

This question is probably better suited to the users mail list.

There is a distinction between a newline and a new paragraph. I suspect
that your document has new paragraphs rather than new lines and thus no
new lines were found.

Some people have found IannzFindReplace macro available from:
http://homepages.paradise.net.nz/hillview/OOo/
in a document called IannzFindReplace.sxw useful.

Thanks, Ian

My Gripe: One suggestion, don't have Word Completion on by default. I
would guess that most people educated enough to know about
OpenOffice.org are pretty fast at typing, and to having to hit the enter

the word. It totally disrupts the flow of typing.

Hm, where is the problem with AutoCompletion? You don't need to accept
its suggestions, just ignore it and type as you want!

Only if it happens to offer a good completion press Enter. So
AutoCompletion is only a *visual* interruption, but it doesn't prevent
you from typing the text as you want.

Re: [discuss] Question

2005-11-18 Thread Alexandro Colorado
You select to use OpenOffice.org as your default application for Microsoft
documents. To fix this you have to go to Windows Explorer Folder Option

File Types

Look for doc, xls ppt and put change to word excel etc..

you can also change the icon if you need that.
