[discuss] Mac PPC version? Where did it go?
I am using a Mac PPC version on Mac OS X 10.5 (Mac G4). I wanted to use OO 3.x. I have a Linux partition but wanted to use on the Mac side. If this is not going to ever be available, please let me know. This is from the Download page. [discuss] Mac track pad
Hi, I love the program but I find one thing absolutely maddening. I'm unable to turn off the track pad zoom function my mac has in either Openoffice or in my preferences. It causes my papers to shink to illegible size with even the slightest slip of my fingers. If this could be dealt with in future incarnations of Openoffice I think it would make myself and other mac users incredibly happy. Hello Roger, The prompt is in the xterm window of the X11 utility that OpenOffice.org needs to run on your Mac. The X11 or XQuartz that comes with Leopard (OSX 10.5.x, your operating system) is different from the X11 that runs on Tiger (the previous Mac OS 10.4.x) and it isn't yet entirely bugsfree. The developers are busy with it, and you get updates with Apple's automagic Software Update. There are more regular updates available at http://www.myriad-online.com/en/products/galerie.htm that may (or may not) work better with Leopard and OpenOffice.org OpenOffice.org always triggers X11 to open, hence that window, that you can close if it annoys you (just click on the red button - there are more sophisticated ways of stopping X11 from opening that xterm window in the first place, but I lost the reference... I use the 'experimental' version of OOo that works without X11 - you can download it for trial, not for serious production work, since it's still being tested to weed out the bugs - see the entry page of www.openofice.orgfor the beta-2, there's a version for your Mac Intel too. BTW, the normal place to discuss these things would be the users list ( [EMAIL PROTECTED]). You can subscribe to that list and post your questions there. Re: [discuss] Mac Version
Andrew, I don't know if anyone replied to you with this link already: http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php NeoOffice is a port of OpenOffice to the Mac. It's slow to load but OK once it's up and running. They've added some of the usual Mac interface stuff. The port obviates the requirement to run X11. The software may tide you over until the official Aqua port is available. John Orr On Jun 2, 2007, at 10:26 AM, Andrew Boyce wrote: I love your product... [discuss] Mac OS X 10.4.8 Openoffice shuts down
Hello, I can't find the answer to my question, hopefully you can help: I have a new MacBook running OS X 10.4.8. I have the 1.83 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I manually installed X11 and then double clicked on Openoffice 2.2 application. X11 launched and Openoffice tried to. The splash screen came on and showed the progress bar about a quarter of the way filled, then the Openoffice just QUIT. I don't know if I'm starting up the application in the wrong way, or this is a bug? Please if you have any information... Tony Need Mail bonding? Go to the Yahoo! Mail QA for great tips from Yahoo! Re: [discuss] Mac
Agreed. I ran across a few messages claiming that OOo 2 is *finally* available for download, so I was all psyched up to download it for OS X. Sadly, OOo 1.1.2 is the latest version available for Macitnosh users. What is the general timeline for OO2 for OS X, or has that been officially dropped? -Lars Lars Noodén ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) Software patents harm all Net-based business, write your MEP: http://wwwdb.europarl.eu.int/ep6/owa/p_meps2.repartition?ilg=EN On Fri, 21 Oct 2005, Stephen Palkot wrote: Hey Folks, Not to get angry or anything, but I think the opening page is a touch misleading for Mac owners.
